merlin was very well concealed. cloak, hood, and even a spell that manipulated his voice. he didn't turn when he heard arthur, just kept collecting what looked like mushroom, hoping that if he pretended he was def, he'd think it was someone else and go away.

he froze, and mumbled something. suddenly, there was a huge whirlwind around them. he turned to look at arthur. "what is it?"

Arthur blinked, raising his arm slightly to shield his face from the sudden wind. He lowered his arm after a momemt, watching his friend. He was silent. Now that he was standing in front of Merlin, he knew this was more difficult then what he thought it would be. Was there an easy way of saying this? Probably not.

"Merlin, i...I'm so sorry that this is how you have to find out. But...Guiass passed away last night." Arthur whispered.

Arthur frowned. "I...Know this must be difficult for you, Merlin. I know what he meant to you. And I'm so sorry for what happened. But...He wanted me to tell you that he really did love you like a son. And he wanted to thank you for brightening up his life when you came to Camelot." He said.

he stared down, and the whirlwind fell, but he pulled a string on his belt, and a cloud of dust rose up. when it disappeared, merlin was gone.

He blinked, watching as merlin disappeared. He sighed, looking down. He wasn't going to try and track him down. He knew the other probably just needed some time alone right now. He moved over, getting in his horse before he started back to the kingdom

merlin had, in reality, used a spell to teleport to the castle, using an invisibilty spell to watch the maids prepare for the funeral.
