the sound of sizzling eggs covered up the sound of soft footsteps, so benji was taken off-guard when arms wrapped around his torso loosely. "whatcha doin' up so early benji?" a smile formed on his face when he heard the still-sleepy voice of his other half. "i'm making you breakfast, silly" benji laughed lightly, feeling aj's head rest against his back. this was good, life was good. he had his own place, living with the person he loved dearly. benji had the life he always wanted.

he felt soft, delicate kisses being pressed against his back and that made him smile just a little bit wider. "what about you, huh? why are you up so early?" he spoke in a soft voice, as not to disturb the soft and still atmosphere. there was a soft laugh, "because you're awake and i had nobody to cuddle with if you are up." those words filled benji with a warmth. he realized now how lucky he was to have someone like aj. someone who loved him and truly wanted to be with him.

oh, how life was turning out to be as marvelous as the movies make it out to be. that a love could truly have passion but also be accompanied by childish antics and early morning conversations about nothing. life also was full of darkness, benji knew that all too well - as did aj. he was simply thankful that the light, that of which was provided by aj, was enough to hide the darkness. aj brought life to his life. he brought him out of the darkness whether thatt be intentional or not.

"hey you, guess what." "hm?" "i love you, so much"

benji set the pan down and slowly turned around to look at the shorter of them. he gently brushed his fingers through the soft ginger hair that sat atop aj's head. "i love you too." after a moment of comfortable silence, filled simply with two sleepy grins, benji leaned down and pressed a soft kiss to aj's lips. he wasn't able to stop the smile that had crept it's way onto his face when he kissed him.

this. this was happiness. of that, benji was one hundred percent sure.
