Alright, so in April I went to Disney for the first time in my life. As a kid I probably would've loved it but,, as an angsty teenager it was just alright.
Now my first complaint is about the lack of shade. Disney World is based in Florida. It's extremely hot and it only rained once while we were there. Even then I felt like someone was splashing me with water from a hot tub. I live in Canada, and to be specific. Prince Edward Island. It is very cold and even in Summer I find myself prancing around in heavy sweaters and jeans. I wasn't prepared for the heat of Florida, so I wore a sweater and jeans. Big mistake. I was overheating the whole time we were there. I would've taken off my sweater but there was nowhere to put it so I was stuck wearing it the whole time. To make it better, there was no shade! I wanted to walk in a slightly colder environment as much as I cold. But there was nowhere to walk. All day I was stuck in the heat. There were no umbrellas to huddle under, no small pathways surrounded by trees or buildings to block the light, nothing. I ended up getting dehydrated and sick from the heat. Thanks Disney.
It's so overpriced. Whilst my time of burning and death. I had a craving for something to drink so I wouldn't die. We were on a strict budget and each had a limited amount of money to spend. Once we spent it we were done. I had spent all my money on a fucking shirt. It was really nice and worth it, but it was way too much. Since we only had limited amounts of money I couldn't ask for more. I had about two bucks left and needed a drink. No one was selling regular water and frozen lemonade was five fucking bucks. I couldn't drink shit. Thanks Disney.
It's overhyped. Most of the rides were shit and took hours to get into. You constantly hear people screaming about the rides and how thrilling and epic they are, but they really aren't that good. The only ride that got me screaming and made me rethink life was the Tower of Terror. The drops were epic and when the windows opened... Jeez it was intense... Space mountain was boring and slow. Not worth a two hour wait. Rock and Rollercoaster was fast but you couldn't see anything so it was kinda pointless. There were some other cool rides, but I was too pissed and groggy to enjoy them. There were some neat simulations and Test Tracks was cool. But the place is way too overhyped.
The food was... Oh the food... Maybe I made the wrong choices when eating my food. We went to a 50s themed restaurant. The bread was stale and the food was kinda gross. I had a salad and it tasted off, my dad gave me a piece of chicken and it made me sick. The next day we went I could not eat churros. Disney lost my trust.
Anger. Everyone was fucking pissed. The heat and zero shade caused anger in my entire family. We had an argument at one point, I don't know what about. I was zoning out and dying. I think my sister complained and my mom and her started fighting and dragged me into it? I'm not too sure. I actually overheard a couple break up. They were so pissed, I'm not sure why but DisneWorld causes fights and anger. It's weird considering it's labelled to be a super happy place.
So, if you ever go to Disney World, bring lots of money and only go to Hollywood Studios. Also, go alone, bring an umbrella, being lots of water and don't eat at the Prime Time Cafe.
