Twilightbreak needed what the last part of her name gave. A break. She’d been trying, hard, to make things fit. To make things right. She had tried to give the outsiders  those she deemed from the light, a welcoming home. It was the first step to acceptance, it was the first step to moving on from their dark past.
This wore her out. It made her exhausted. She barely had the energy to make it home. Her tired gaze fell upon her bed. Well... The wolf tried giving her bed to her older brother, but he never took it. It wasn’t like it mattered anyway. She wouldn’t get good sleep on a bed made for a princess, or on a bed that was wooden. The wolf yawns, checking for her brother on the floor. She made sure not to step on him, and went onto her bed. She curled up, covering herself with a blanket sans laying on the pillow. It took a while, but exhaustion won, and she fell to slumber.
She slept for a little bit. This was, of course, until she was plunged into the dream realm. Where things sprang to life, unrealistic or realistic. Where dreams could be happy or they could be your worst nightmare. Unfortunately, the latter was true for Twilight. She had managed to hide it well most times, but that would not be tonight.
The wolf did not feel in control of her dream body. It was like this most nights. She could not help but stalk around the Springs. What it seemed like were the Springs. She watches an intruder attack something. Not her, no. It was, however, a white dog. One that was her friend. She tried calling out to him, rushing over to help. Her paws thrummed against the ground as she saw crimson liquid fall into the stream. Her friend was helpless. Those people made sure of that! The wolf leaps, snarling, but she’s too late. The person from the outside, of the so-called world of light, had torn apart and stabbed her friend. Her eyes went wide as the friend speaks with shortness of breath. "I’m so...so sorry." Those were the last words her friend ever gave her. She wanted to sob but the intruder was still there. Cyan tears fell from Twilightbreak’s face as she turns to the intruder, a tiger who smirks.
He laughs, he gives a dark chuckle as he speaks. [b]"Looks like you ran out of time, Miss Aurumque." With that, the tiger pins her down. He gets an idea, a sadistic glint in his eyes. Purring, almost like a cat, he slams her body down, into the Springs. While this would’ve been relaxing, it wasn’t. She could feel the ache in her lungs as he pins her, taking all of her breath away. He laughs, mocking her and the rest of her kind as pagans  witches  beasts that were not supposed to be alive. He pushes down, on her rib cage. Glowing water flows into her body, and she coughs desperately. She notices the glint of a knife in his mouth as he slashed her foreleg  the back of it , the water becoming more bluer than before. It burned, almost. Having it put down into the water didn’t help. It was seating, in a sense. All she could do is flail... and try to feebly escape. Futile. Futile.
"Die."
With those final words, the wolf who had been fitful, tossing and turning, jumped up, still on her bed. She cried, "No! Stop! Please... please please please... stop!" Her eyes were wide, as if it truly did just happen. She felt weak, her body felt numb, like the TV static, and she was panting. Twilightbreak suits her eyes, lowering her head. Just... anything to stop the pulsing heartbeat, the fear and terror that overcame her.
