— During his first raid (Or fight, maybe a skirmish at the border idk) he was too scared to protect some of his clanmates (or perhaps, a single cat) from an enemy, and afterwards, he feels like SHIT because he was unable to live up to his own standards and the warrior code (in his mind, at least). He'll resent that memory in the future.
— I think I'm going to hate myself for this because I feel like I always do it? But he will have some underlying self-esteem issues, so he'll come across as incredibly humble.
— He needs to become friends with like....an asshole kinda character. Just this cat who's a complete and utter jerk sometimes. He's just too nice (and clueless); He's the guy who he shrugs off their attitude and even acts friendly to them.

After Cherryspark's father dies somehow (I'm not even sure if he's going to die, exactly, but something happened), his mother starts to neglect him. Depending on what happens, she'll blame Cherrykit for this accident. She'll begin to avoid him and treat him coldly, which will be the beginning of her neglect for him.

Think of Rainflower and how she treated Crookedkit in Crookedstar's Promise. That's essentially how his mother treated him. In other words, she sucks and makes me really mad to think about.

How this affects the present time: Cherryspark doesn't really think about his mother. She's alive, but she's not there. When they interact, he does the minimum for their estranged relationship, speaking to her with a respectful and polite demeanor. He likes to think that the clan raised him, especially the other queens and elders (hence why he goes to the elders often for advice/stories).

[spoiler=this is more for my own reference than anything else tbh]His father was Sunshade, a russet colored somali who Cherryspark resembles in almost every way - aside from being a vibrant red instead of russet. Cherryspark's father was a great warrior in battle. Outside of that, he had a serious demeanor which made most apprentices annoyed with him. When elders tell him stories about his great battles, he was always told that he was dedicated to following the warrior code; hence why Cherryspark has such a fondness for the concept of the perfect warrior who abides the warrior code.

Cherryspark's mother is named Minnowpounce, a blue occicat. Before the accident(?) she was a good mate and a mother who loved her kit; she was very proud, saying that Cherrykit looked healthy and strong. As a young warrior, Minnowpounce was quieter and shyer than her sister and Cherry's aunt, Pebbleheart.

Minnowpounce was often the more reluctant one when they ran away from camp to explore on their own; their mother was more than happy when they became apprentices and finally, a mentor could keep an eye on her. She grew up believing she was stuck in her sister's shadow; she was astonished and somewhat frightened when Sunshade expressed feelings for her. [/spoiler]

[align=center][div style="background=transparent; borderwidth=0px; bordercolor=; font-size: 8.4pt; text-align:justify; line-height: 125%; width: 400px"]Fennelpaw is from a younger generation; the second litter since his parents only got one kit from the first litter. Unfortunately, the relationship between Mudtalon, their first son, and Fennel sucks lol.

Mudtalon is Fennelpaw's only brother. He can be described as an arrogant and cocky warrior that likes showing off to others and seems to enjoy ragging on his brother, and sometimes on other apprentices. Pretty much fits the asshole-jock-named-Chad archetype. Their relationship is very, very rocky, always has been, and Fennel honestly hates the way his brother acts. They pretty much despise each other. Mudtalon is older than 12 moons but bc I haven't figured out how multiple litters work I haven't decided how much older he is.

His father is Whiskernose and his mother is Cloudglow. His parents are both loving, although Fennelpaw definitely favors his father over his mother - he understands Fennel's impatience with how he's treated by Mudtalon and Fennel goes to him for advice quite often.

Cloudglow has trouble admitting when she is wrong. Fennelpaw seemed to inherit this trait and both of them often butt heads when it comes to certain things. She obviously favors Mudtalon despite his behaviour towards her youngest son.

Whiskernose seemed wise beyond his years at a young age. As an apprentice, he duitfully did his duties and trained hard to become a strong warrior. As he grew, so did his love for the clan, At one point, he was considered to become the next deputy. However, Whiskernose was at peace with being a warrior and refused, and since has grown into a respected senior warrior. (Fennel often looks up to him and goes to him when he's troubled.)
