a
personality
General: Emotionally unstable and very unpredictable.
Psychological: Occasionally delusional. Has quite a few mental issues.
Relationships: Capable of maintaining very few stable relationships.
Romance: Capable.

Likes: Butterflies, birds, sweet foods, heat, swimming, cheese, rabbits, ferrets.

Other Traits: Studious, intelligent, observant, analytical, skill in psychology, imaginative
Negative Traits: Mood swings, potentially violent, untrustworthy, manipulative

Friendly, for the most part, Sheogorath is a charming fellow with a curious and intelligent mind and an extroverted presence. He's usually friendly, but suffers from common mood swings that can send him into manic, depressive, or potentially violent states of mind. While he does his best, for the most part, not to attack or kill without reason, he has done so in the past. Sheogorath could be considered a mass murderer, and while he tries not to murder allies, has had a habit of it in the past.

Sheogorath enjoys most animals, but has a special love for ferrets and rabbits. Pets prove to be quite therapeutic for him, often curbing his more violent thoughts and calming him in dangerous situations. Sheogorath also has a particular passion for butterflies, warm air, dinosaurs, and sweet foods. He enjoys the ocean, the rolling of the waves, and finds peace in a clear sky. Cloudy days and cold weather can prove agitating, and sour his mood, however he always tries to remain humorous and enjoyable to be around. When his mood does change for the worse, he often manages to hold back from physical violence.

Certain things can be triggering for Sheogorath. Loud, shrill sounds and particularly bright lights overwhelm him, and can cause him panic, discomfort, and ultimately lead to a meltdown, which often consists of intense stimming, such as tapping or rocking back and forth, hyperventilating, and crying. Sheogorath also dislikes touch without warning or permission, as it pains him and he may flinch away. Due to his past as a prisoner under the Group of Captors, and after The Scarecrow's cruel attack, Sheogorath is sensitive to certain items, such as hot irons, loud noises, or people sneaking up behind him. When frightened, Sheogorath can turn violent, but is able to tell the difference between friend and foe after a little bit of time has passed.

Despite his past as a serial killer, a bully, and a cruel tyrant, he acts childish many times during interaction, and displays his willingness to act less than his age without much issue. Despite his developmental disabilities, Sheogorath still retains and intelligent mind, and is able to understand most information. However, Sheogorath has trouble understanding sarcasm and jokes, as he has a habit of taking things literally. Sheogorath also struggles with reading facial expressions and understanding the emotions of others.

-- Sheogorath is high functioning autistic. I've mentioned this before in his past, but he's so high functioning that anyone who doesn't have autism or doesn't associate with autism would not be able to recognize the signs he displays because he's not low functioning so much that he often displays autistic traits. Some traits that he does display include:

Stimming. Sheogorath will tap objects, and rock back and forth depending on mood.
Sheogorath has a habit of taking things literally. Tell him a joke and he might not understand it!
He can't really read human emotion that well. He's not good at reading facial expressions.
Sheogorath can be socially awkward at times if you catch him off guard.
Sheogorath has trouble displaying proper responses. He may laugh when others are in pain, even if he doesn't think it's funny, simply because he can't control how he reacts.
He can get overwhelmed with too much sound, light, or other stimuli and while rare, he can and will have a meltdown.
Certain textures are favored over others. Sheogorath is calmed by soft fur, but gets agitated by sandpaper and the feel of beans in his mouth.
Sheogorath obsesses over certain things, like dinosaurs.
He will repeat things over and over again, like closing a door multiple times before feeling satisfied.

-- Sheogorath has a learning disorder. He has something called discalculia, meaning he has a learning disability in math.

A bit like dyslexia, Sheogorath will often see numbers backwards, or not in the correct order.
He is unable to count money.
He cannot tell time from a clock that doesn't directly display the time.
Sheogorath is incapable of even the most basic mathematics, such as addition, or multiplication. If he can't count it on his fingers, he can't do it.

-- Sheogorath is bipolar. He displays common traits related to this illness.

He has mood swings.
During manic episodes, Sheogorath feels as if he can do anything, and often believes himself a god.
During depressive episodes, Sheogorath feels guilt, loneliness, and overall insecurity.

-- Sheogorath has PTSD. After his time in the Group of Captors, and Scarecrow's attack, Sheogorath has minor PTSD.

Certain triggers give him flashbacks.
Triggers include rattling chains, hot iron, and smiley faces.
Sneaking up behind Sheogorath can cause him panic and flashbacks and will cause him to react aggressively.
He struggles to trust others due to memories of how he has been manipulated in the past.

[b]history

Summarized Historical Events From Past to Present.

(tw for violence, death, torture, and probably some other things )

[young teen] the power was fading, but the crane family had found refuge in a small community watched over by a greedy doctor of a nobleman, if one could dare call the wealthy such a thing. the man did have a bit of a superiority complex though, and often demanded tribute, and those that couldn't pay would be banished into the wild. when modern technology still flourished, rommy's father, edward, had worked as a psychologist, dr crane, they would call him. each night he would come home and share a story, one that was likely meant to be confidential, but romulus had always been fascinated by the mind. that never changed after the fallout, edward had decided not to take money given its worthless value, but instead offered his counseling presence for free. rommy's mother worked similar magic, but had been an artist, a painter, a crafter, anything vibrant a person could imagine, and she taught all she knew to her son and those that came to learn from her. meanwhile, romulus lingered as an outcast, his eccentric personality had often gotten him bullies, until he had poked out one of their eyes. there had been an uproar, of course, and he had nearly been kicked from the town, but his young age had protected him from harm. after that, the other kids didn't bully him. they avoided him.

[teenage] there was a time in rommy's life where hatred was all that fueled his emotions, violent outbursts would start and end his day, and there were plenty that moved far from his teenage presence whenever he moved past on the street, fearful glances, some disgusted, passed his way in brief display. it all started with the dog. edward had brought it home to him, a brown little thing with perked ears and short fur. he had named it jet, and for a long while, the two were inseparable. but dogs always found their way into tragedies, and jet was no different. that was the day of the raid, a group of bandits on horseback stormed the town, some with guns, others waving bows. each home they rummaged, until they came to romulus's. the family was content to duck their heads and avoid the situation, but not jet. likely sensing danger, the hound attacked the intruder. he didn't perish until an hour after the bandits had left, bleeding from the chest, a hole carved by a bullet. there had been no vets in the village. that had enraged romulus, for the boy had thought it his own fault. he believed he could have stopped it, and he hated himself for it, lashed out at everyone else in some vain attempt to recover himself. but from there, it only ever got worse.

[young adult] years later, they had another dog. but romulus had refused to get acquainted with it. he had grown to hate the things. diana, his loving mother, had grown ill. it had started off as a cough, but as the days passed, her breath became harder and harder to grasp. at the time, there was only one doctor available, and that was the man that controlled the power, the wealthy individual that lived in the stained brick manor just over the hill. his name had been waylon, and no matter how often edward pleaded, the man refused to help. he had made the argument that they couldn't afford to waste precious resources on a cough, but they all knew it was a lie. the man was hoarding the medicine for himself, and as a result, diana never lasted another week. the father and son grieved, but while edward dug her grave in lonely silence, romulus had fled. he had spent the day gathering his supplies, fuming, before making his way to the manor in the deep of the night. he had been smart, he had barricaded the doors, cut the power, and then he had set it all on fire. romulus had stayed only to watch the home burn, and to insure waylon had been reduced to nothing but ash. the sadness faded with the smoke, a sign of change, and for the first time in such a long while, he didn't hate himself anymore. but a new life demanded forsaking the old one. the last thing romulus had ever done was shoot his father in the chest, and that was the day sheogorath was born.

later on, sheogorath met two people of whom he grew quite close to, taboa and roman. taboa started out less than violent, but when a desperate man killed one of her favorite horses, sheogorath was eager to hop in and manipulate his friend into becoming a killer by assisting her in hunting down the horse killer and encouraging her to kill. afterward, the group, growing closer, with sheogorath eventually coming to like taboa as more than a friend, began to spread mischief in their wake, and soon began to refer to themselves as as a group. where they walked, they caused mistrust, and sometimes fear, and that was just how they liked it. one day, an old bandit group, the same one belonging to the group he had murdered much earlier in revenge for killing his dog, captured sheogorath and held him in their camp until, eventually, sheogorath talked his way into joining. he remained with the group for some time before leaving after a dispute with the leader.

[adult - the badlands] for quite some time, sheogorath roamed the land, joining the occasional small group, killing the occasional person. one day he heard of the badlands, and decided to travel forth and join. after joining, things took a quick turn. not many enjoyed his presence, particularily one named parks, of whom despised his very existence. sheogorath could say the same to her, especially after she was promoted to the guard position despite her hateful behavior. he was quickly promoted as well, to the rank of vanguard, just below park's position. he didn't mind much, but no doubt she certainly did. worse yet, the pair were sent together on a scouting mission to find a new home, and parks had nearly shot him after he had probed into her mind. they eventually found a small town on the beach, and the badlands started their preparations to move. in that time, sheogorath had also murdered a young woman on northstar district territory, prompting their leader to investigate. sheogorath made some not so friendly comments, resulting on him being put on probation. later, out of revenge, sheogorath hunted down the leader, and assaulted him, but left the man alive and alone in the jungle. not long after, sheogorath was promoted to the guard position. further mischief followed, from a raid on flintlock to another murder, before he was promoted even further, to capo.

one day, just after he was promoted to underboss, sheogorath was patrolling the border when he ended up being ambushed by a pair of individuals, one of which he had met before as a bandit. the two take sheogorath to their far off camp and torture him as a form of revenge, for at one point in the past, sheogorath had killed the man's brother. eventually, sheogorath got free of his ropes and killed the couple out of hatred for what they had done to him. injured and disoriented, sheogorath wandered in the hopes of finding the badlands again, when he instead came across the group of captors, led by his friend j. sheogorath was held prisoner by j, tattooed and branded like an animal, he blamed himself, believing it to be his fault for hurting j's feelings. over time, however, he realized that j was simply abusing him, using him, and grew enraged. challenging j, sheogorath managed to escape the group of captors. on his way back home, he came across a german shepard, and adopted him, naming him thadon.

after returning to the badlands, weak and distressed, he retired from his underboss position and lived a few months in peace before his pet rabbit, haskill, passed away from illness around the same time the real human haskill showed up in the badlands. feeling pity for sheogorath, human haskill offered sheogorath his pet ferret, twister, before leaving the badlands behind. sheogorath was left behind once more in a bittersweet display, though he quickly grew attached to the ferret. slowly but surely, he began to recover from his loss and hardship. and then the scarecrow attacked him. wielding a bio-chemical known as fear toxin, used to cause hallucinations of one's greatest fears, he lunged at the former underboss. sheogorath was subjected to his worse fears, breaking his mind and leaving him struggling with flashbacks and the will to recover.

when charlie disappeared and parks became leader, sheogorath was forced into the second in command position once more. for a time, all was peaceful. then, once more, he was snatched from the badlands by a particularly dangerous gang of mercenaries, who had heard of his foul deeds. sheogorath ultimately escaped, and returned to the badlands to find it leaderless and in chaos. soon, he began having dreams about his murders, haunted by the faces of his past. this resulted in sheogorath feeling an intense amount of guilt as a result of his cruel actions. sheogorath was promptly determined to do better. he went to flintlock to apologize, and was attacked by a wolf, forcing him off a small cliff. sheogorath was heavily injured, and when he returned to the badlands, he was harshly punished after the new leader, catalyst, found out about his actions. branded with hot iron and named a worm, his new rabbit, marshmallow, murdered, sheogorath developed an intense depression.

over the course of three months, he spent in recovery, hiding out within the confines of his library. suicidal thoughts plagued his mind, and on many occasions, he seriously considered ending it all. michael kept his health maintained, insuring he ate properly. over time, sheogorath began to drag himself out of his depression, and eventually grew bold enough to exit the library once more. he hit other milestones, like reaching a draw in a spar, entering the casino, and even attaining a new rabbit, which he named haskill after his first one. over time, sheogorath became increasingly confident, and found the strength to forgive himself for all that he had done. in his mind, it was time to move forward, not dwell on the past. however, he found himself growing angry once again, after two insurrection members attack and wound his friend, michael. sheogorath kills the two insurrection members, reviving his blood lust, which fills sheogorath with internal rage for the world. he was soon thrust into a long-term manic episode, which restored his previous, eccentric personality.

not long after, a woman named mary showed up in the badlands with a child named joshua, claiming that he was the son of both sheogorath and mary. happily, they were accepted into the badlands, and sheogorath became a father he never knew he'd be. afterwards, catalyst is attacked by an insurrection assassin. looking to prove himself not a traitor, sheogorath kills the assassin, saving catalyst's life. he also saves rae from a savage dog, and gavril from a group of thugs. not long afterwards, sheogorath is promoted back to grunt, however he soon suffers a depressive episode afterwards, and travels to a hospital known as springfield for treatment, with permission from catalyst, of course. anton provided him with physical therapy exercises, medication known as valium, while a psychologist named aaron offered emotional therapy. sheogorath was in springfield for two weeks, before returning to the badlands with his medication.

for a time, he faded into the background, living in the badlands as a simple grunt. he worked on his pottery and craftsmanship, but he couldn't deny the strong calling he felt toward excitement, toward a life without his medication, here he could feel again, where he could experience life to the fullest again. sheogorath, several months after returning from springfield, decided to go off his medication in the hopes of enjoying life once more. though sickness plagued him for weeks afterword, he endured, until finally, he woke up feeling excitable once more. feeling joyous, sheogorath decided it was time to make a name for himself once more.

ABOUT

born into a wealthy but greedy family, when the power shut off, roman's parents became a mafia of sorta, ruling over the small town and keeping the police at bay using bribery. they dabbled in alcohol and drug production, as well as the occasional hit. eventually, roman came into power himself upon the suspicious death of his parents in a house fire in which roman lost virtually everything. choosing not the linger in the old settlement that was no doubt planning a hate mob with his face on it, roman chose to flee the town. he later found himself in the badlands with what he could salvage from the fire.

roman is a hostile type of guy, greedy, power loving, and prideful, he'll do anything to get his way, and climb further up the ladder toward the throne. he typically won't get his own hands dirty if he has the option, but isn't afraid to if there aren't any others nearby. but roman doesn't hurt others for mere fun, no, there's always a reason for his crimes, always a purpose behind the cruelty. though he feels little in the way or guilt or remorse, he prefers to think of himself as a rather classy guy, but he'd just as quickly feed a treacherous friend to the dogs.

some personality notes include that he has anger issues, and struggles to control himself when enraged. he will typically try to bribe or buy out people before resorting to violence, and loves it when people are indebted to him, or serving him in some way. he may seem eccentric and cheerful on the outside, but inside, he's a stone cold killer.

with short black hair and glacial blue eyes, roman boasts an athletic figure and is certainly no pushover. he can throw a punch just as well as anyone else, and is strong enough to knock out most opponents if he gets a good hit in. roman is almost always dressed head to toe in a suit of some kind, rather than casual clothing. he wears polished boots, and occasionally a black skull mask to intimidate others.

THE BEGINNING
[TW for death and probably lots of it.] Nathaniel Crane. That was once his name. Born into a small inland town, Nathaniel was adopted at a young age into a family that would never be his own. Though they loved him, they had promised that when the time came, they wouldn't tell a lie. It wasn't until he was older that his step parents informed him of the truth. Hurt and grieving, Nathaniel chose to seek out what he saw as his true family, as opposed to being complacent with those that had so willingly taken him in. Adventurous and bold, Nathaniel struck out on his own, but by the time his investigation had come to it's conclusion, he had been too late. He'd never get to meet his real parents, because they were dead. According to a friend, the mother had died of illness, and the father had been murdered by his son, Nathaniel's brother, Alexander.

Despite having no ties to his true family, Nathaniel couldn't help but feel enraged that his investigation had ended in such disaster. It was hard to process that his brother was somewhere out there, a killer and a scourge. The young adult returned to his step parents, and informed them of what had happened. Around the same time, the last of the power was shutting off. Generators were failing. Only the sun could light their path now. Determined to find his brother, Alexander, and bring him to justice for slaying his real parents, Nathaniel said his goodbyes once more and wandered out into the new world, the world where money could no longer buy one's way out of trouble, a world where bands of deadly raiders lurked, and bandits prowled the barren streets. Nathaniel was armed with both blade and gun as he struck out once more, seeking his brother amidst the chaos.

He eventually tracked Alexander down to a bandit camp, where, word had it, a man named Sheogorath had attacked, killing several of the raiders in a fit of rage. What had triggered that fury was unknown, but given the description of Sheogorath that was given to him by the bandits, Nathaniel could figure it out easily enough. Sheogorath and Alexander were one and the same. Once more, Nathaniel returned home to report his findings to his family, but he didn't count on the bandit group following him back into town. A few days of peace passed, before they revealed themselves in the form of a full blown raiding party. The bandits tore through the small inland village, killing everyone in their path, including Nathaniel's parents. Though he struggled and fought against them with a primal rage, he was overrun, and knocked out cold.

Nathaniel awoke chained and captured within the bandit camp outside of town. The smell of smoke filled the air, as the city burned nearby. Though his step parents had not been his true family in terms of blood, now that they were dead, Nathaniel couldn't deny that in a sense, they were his true family, perhaps not by blood, but through the bond they had formed between one another. His step parents had raised him, and for the first time, Nathaniel realized his mistake, his foolishness in betraying his real family for one he had never truly known. It was Sheogorath's fault, he determined. Somehow, some way, it was that madman's fault. Nathaniel should have blamed himself, but he couldn't. In his mind, if Sheogorath hadn't killed his real father, if Sheogorath hadn't raided those bandits, none of this ever would have happened. His family would still be alive, both real and adopted.

The bandits soon revealed their desire for Nathaniel to join their group. They saw potential in his spirit. Nathaniel wanted nothing to do with the beasts that had murdered his parents, but he played along, desperate to escape. One late night, Nathaniel made his move, seeking to escape the camp. He was stopped by a guard, who didn't buy his excuses of a late night patrol. Forced into combat, Nathaniel choked his enemy to death, before fleeing into the woods in the dark shadows of the night. Nathaniel had only one thing on his mind, he'd hunt down his brother, and make him pay for everything. Everything. The death that now bloodied his hands was ignored in favor of a desire for vengeance, and once more Nathaniel struck out on a quest. For years, he wandered alone after losing his brother's trail. Perhaps during that time, he lost a lot more than that, as well. Plagued by the determination of his vengeance, the strength of his rage, the power of his grief and loneliness, Nathaniel began to lose his mind.

He changed his name to Wrathion, a play upon the wrath that so often pierced his thoughts. No longer would he be Nathaniel, the orphan child that had lost his entire life within mere weeks. He would become Wrathion, the beast of a man that would do everything in his power to make the person he deemed responsible pay. Eventually, rumors spread of an infamous killer in a group known as The Badlands, miles from where he stood. On a mere hunch, Wrathion began to make his way toward the Badlands. It took him two years to track them down, to travel to the coastal shore, but there it was, below the mountains, a seaside town that held the secret of a man he had been hunting for half of his life. Determined now more than ever, Wrathion made his way through the mountain pass, and towards his prey.

THOMAS WAYNE

ABOUT

born to a wealthy family, one might say thomas was always rather out of touch with society and the world around him. he grew up loved and pampered, and never knew the hardships of poverty. until, around the world, the power began to shut down and go out. though thomas' home went dark, the family began to invest in solar power to insure their wealthy lifestyle was not too far destroyed by the newfound struggle for lights and power that seemed to plague the land.

it was late at night when a few desperate criminals managed to sneak into the manor. though thomas did his best to fight back against the attackers, he was overpowered, and the manor was set ablaze. thomas was barely able to escape the ropes that bound him before attempting to save his family. but they were already gone, taken by the smoke and flames. just barely escaping with his life, thomas was taken to the local hospital, which at the time, ran on reliable generators to insure the survival of it's patients. this, unfortunately, made the hospital both a beacon of hope to the town, and an over-sized target.

he had been in the hospital for a few weeks, recovering from his burns, some of which would leave permanent scarring down his ribs. then, as if he were watching a flashback of his own manor being raided, the hospital itself was attacked by a large group of people. overpowering the police and doctors that tried to protect the building. ultimately, many were killed in the raid, and the hospital was sacked, the generators destroyed during the fight, and once more thomas was cast into darkness. he traveled the ransacked hospital as if in a daze, before the rage began to set in. he wondered why so many had to die at the hands of the cruel, why so many innocents suffered due to crime, and with a world more lawless than ever, a world that was falling apart at the seams, it became clear to thomas that someone had to step up to protect the survivors from the cruel of the world.

thomas joined the town's volunteer police force, as cash had quickly lost it's value during the blackout, the town relied on volunteers to protect them. however, suspicions arose when most of the criminals thomas brought into the jail turned out to be seriously injured. he often claimed self defense, but in many cases, it was clear he had simply taken justice into his own hands. threatened by the police force he had been serving for years, thomas chose to flee the town before the investigation could further implicate him in what they deemed as harsh crimes, but what thomas viewed as justice. he hated criminals, he hated those that dared prey upon the innocent, and he would see them all suffer.

moving a few towns over, out of reach of the police force that had started hunting him, thomas began a new life in the dark, power-less town. by day, he was a craftsmen who traded his goods with residents. by night, he was a vigilante. rather than joining this town's version of the police, thomas took matters into his own hands, and hunted criminals alone under the cover of darkness, often leaving bodies in his wake. he eventually fell in love with a woman named rachel, and they moved in together. unfortunately, this made it difficult to hide his alternate lifestyle, and rachel quickly grew suspicious of his night-time behavior. thomas considered stopping his vigilante lifestyle in favor of settling down with rachel, but one night, a bugler broke into their home, and thomas, seeing his parent's flash before his eyes and unwilling to lose the love of his life as he had lost them, beat the desperate criminal to death. rachel, who had attempted to stop him from killing the robber, was horrified, and informed him that they were finished, that she couldn't believe he would do such a thing.

thomas believed what he had done was right. he had protected the innocent from an evildoer once more. he struggled with the grief of losing rachel as he was forced to flee town once more or risk arrest. as the days passed and he wandered the land, thomas decided that he would never love again, that no other could understand his crusade, that his war on the evil of the world would just have to be fought alone. he eventually found himself tracking down a group called flintlock, which he believed he could, once more, restart his life within. they were known for being located far from other civilizations, and thomas figured it would be easy to avoid trouble at flintlock. so, he began his climb up the mountain.
