PLAYING POKER WITH THE DEAD
*I'm going to be keeping IC and OOC separate so here is the OOC announcements or whatever. First, I want to welcome you all to both BB and of course Shadowclan. It's great to see you all here and I can't wait to really get into roleplaying with you all. We're currently the clan with the most ic threads and it's great to see that. I wanted to ask you guys what you think about holding a mass adoptions soon and a choice awards because even if we don't have badges just yet, it's still fun to have choice awards.*
Meetings were something all leaders did, usually weekly or bi-weekly. They could range from being filled with boring information or exciting information. He enjoyed the promotions part of meeting the most. Whether he was being promoted or doing the promoting it was still the best part. He enjoyed recognising his clanmembers efforts in the clan and he also enjoyed the feeling being promoted gave him. Of course, being the leader there was no where else to go but that didn't stop the great dane from enjoying meetings. Putting his thoughts on pause for the time being, the Shadowhunter got up off of the ground and moved towards the riverbank that ran along side the camp.
Large rocks surrounded this one section and Tripwire found it a perfect place to become taller than he already was. Legs outstretched, he stepped up onto the rocks and sat down. Being tall was another thing he liked. Looking down on everyone below him as they looked up at him, listening to his every word. There was no need to imagine the thought, it would be real in only a few more moments. "SHADOWCLAN, MEETING." Tripwire hollered, voice projecting out through the trees of the forest. There were important things to discuss, even if there didn't seem like much he found things to talk about.
If he missed a meeting it would be unprofessional, he'd let his clan down and that wasn't about to happen here. He wasn't going to let them all down this time unlike his previous leadership. Tripwire had been a weak, stuttering mess due to the malfunction of his powers in that particular body but he was glad to be back in a strong, working form. "Alright, first off I want to let you all know how things are going to work around here. Every thursday a meeting will be held, including today of course. We will have a weekly enemy to target and someone sending out gift baskets to our allies. Each week the people handing gift baskets out will be different, we want our allies to get to know everyone. I am aware that currently we have no enemies and Bloodclan is our only ally but I expect you all to be nice to Bloodclan and get to know them. It's important to have at least one strong alliance. Got that?" Tripwire explained, pausing to let this information sink in before continuing.
"Weekly enemies, these are clans you will be encouraged to target for the week. Capture them, raid them, prank them do whatever you want. Just don't get yourself killed ya know? Now you all understand I want to move on. Promotions and demotions will be announced in every meeting and after, any important information will be announced. This structure is so the important information will be fresh in your mind after a meeting, it is important after all." The canine continued, sweeping is dark eyes across the growing crowd. Some members also tended to be late, so keeping important information till last will ensure everyone knew what was going on around shadowclan.
That was the announcements done, now he would touch on promotions and how they worked. It was important the clan knew how everything would work, it was key for a good team. "This is how promotions are gonna work around here. As well as knowing your name and everything about you and your pet frog, showing up everywhere will not get you very far in my eyes. You need to show me you can contribute to the clan, not just hang back and flaunt a fancy rank because that's not gonna be what's happening as long as I'm around. Giving ideas for the clan, successful or not is key to being noticed as a helpful clanmate. With that being said, you don't need to flood my ass with a bunch of useless ideas every minute because that's just being annoying. No one is being promoted today but I want to give a shoutout to Thaddeus and Leo. If you both keep in mind what I just said, you might have a promising chance of being promoted in a week." He explained, giving an approving nod to wherever Leo and Thaddeus were. They haven't been around long but he knew their names and saw them around quite a bit. That was definitely one thing the leader was looking for. His goal was to have a strong clan with good high positions he could fall back on knowing they were there.
Meeting almost over. Only a few more things to cover, get someone to go to Bloodclan and then ask everyone for event ideas and maybe a couple people to spy in a couple pro clans to decide whether it was worth making them enemies or not. "Almost over. Allies next, we only have bloodclan but that's enough for now. They're strong and so are we, as long as everyone makes an effort to meet everyone in the other clan we will both rise to the top. We'll be the strongest clans, working as partners in crime and everyone will know we aren't to be f.cked with. You got that? Play nice with Bloodclan." Tripwire spoke, his voice even but with an edge. They needed to know the importance of allies, whether it was just for their benefit or not.
"Now, I need volunteers to gather and store information about some proclans. Windclan and Thunderclan specifically. This gives us an edge, we'll know their secrets and if they decide to do anything to us we have secrets to spill. I don't care what information you get, as long as it's good. I also need a volunteer to hold a battle training session. Every week will rotate between weekly tasks, battle training, defence training and stamina building among other things. Keeping variety is good and that way we're prepared for anything." He'd been in too many situations where it was the same thing over and over. Weekly tasks every week and you eventually got bored. The tasks became repetitive and those handing out tasks lost motivation. He was trying to do this for his clan, keep them interested and engaged with everyone.
"I'm not going to drag this out any longer so I'm keeping the rest short. Title system, should we have one or not and what names would be good? Last but not least, events. What kind of small event should we hold to get to know bloodclan? A boring dinner party won't do, we need something exciting and engaging." The Shadowhunter finished up his speech. He could keep talking forever about what he wanted to do with the clan and where he wanted it to go but that was enough for now. He could talk about it in a week or a separate announcement. He stayed silent, watching the clan as they murmured between each other. Hoping someone would state their ideas, the leader kicked a small stone off into the river behind him.
