And these aren't the only things I'll jump on; any ideas you have are great as well, just tell 'em to me!

being a complete jerk to him; toughening him up a little. He'll hold a bit of a grudge against them, and depending on how rude or "mean" they are, he might retort or possibly even try and fight them.
introducing him to coffee. He's not a morning person, and in the future he will drink coffee all the time, so he needs someone to show him the wonders of caffeine.
him taking a liking to y/c and following them around; sort of a role model thing. He'll not leave ythem alone and will try to be just like them, possibly even going as far as mimicking their gait or the way they hold themselves.
teaching him about different animals, especially birds. He'll probably ask y/c all about what different kinds of animals look like, and he'll possibly bug y/c constantly.
perhaps y/c can notice his interest in arrows and give/make him one? They could give him a real fancy one, or they could make one themselves and give it to him or something. This fluffball would be so happy either way, honestly.
going on an "adventure" through the territory with him. Maybe they could come across the river and fall in or something, or they could get lost in the forest.
catching him sneaking out of camp to hunt or something. He could possibly have caught a tiny mouse or something and maybe your character could outdo him by catching something bigger.
he needs friends, really. Someone to go adventuring regularly with, or play childish games with.
he also needs somebody to roughouse with. Maybe just stupid things like wrestling. Your character could beat him easily while wrestling, and they could taunt him a little if you want.

Remember, These are just some suggestions I've got to get things started. Anything works, tbh.
