You know the ones, the blue ones with big tails. ❞

One of the Flintlock children, Henry, held onto Charlotte’s hand as he furrowed his brows together. ❝ Wait, like a peacock? ❞ He enquired, Green pointing towards him before he exclaimed, ❝ That’s the one! Those… peacock chickens. ❞ Green turned back to continue trying to make some semblance of the colourful bird on the wall, Henry giving Ida a baffled side glance before he crouched down to look towards the two Flintlock toddlers, Charlotte and Tommy, before he spoke, accompanied with signing for Tommy, ❝ Wanna paint? ❞

Green looked over towards Arlo, a softer smile finding a way on his lips. Arlo was far shyer around the other kids, instead keeping himself close to Green’s side. ❝ Hey, Arlo? ❞ Green questioned, Arlo glancing up before Green pressed a hand against Arlo’s cheek, the young boy gasping before his brows knitted together, trying to look angry even though he was desperately stifling a laugh. ❝ You look like a blueberry. ❞ Green pointed out playfully, Arlo mumbling quietly, ❝ Only half a blueberry. ❞ ❝ Very good point, Arlo. Very good point. How about we paint the other side of your face then? ❞ ❝ No! ❞ Arlo eventually giggled, gently nudging Green away before crouching down to pick up a brush to paint patterns on the wall.

With an amused huff, Green slowly began to retreat to take a closer look at the children as they got on with painting. Soon, it would no longer be a dreary grey wall but one bursting with colour and art. A whimsical, thoughtful smile sat on his lips as he watched the children decorate the wall, slowly nodding his head before glancing over as he saw Finnion wander over, whining, ❝ The wall! It’s too tall! ❞ ❝ You wanna paint higher up? ❞ Green enquired, the young boy nodding his head eagerly before Green wandered over, ❝ All right then. How about... ❞ Lifting the child up with a grunt, he let Finn sit on his shoulders as the child painted the wall, talking to himself attentively. Even though Green was pretty sure he could feel Finn dropping splatters of paint on his head, he still stood patiently as he pointed out Finn's work. ❝ That’s awesome! ❞

"Me?" A smaller voice sounded as Licity watched the other kids and her dad with the paint. She wanted to do it too, but Mom was carrying her so it seemed a deal had to be made. A very simple quick deal.

Paige sighed and brought her over to the other kids "Just don't eat it” she told her toddler, putting her down and taking her hand instead. Felicity said hi to all the kids as they walked by, though Paige was hoping there would be part of the wall that Licity could somehow reach - it seemed she may have to hold her for that to work. "I have a very eager little artist who would like to join you guys, Green. Anywhere she could reach or am I gonna have to risk getting covered in paint too?”

Felicity on the other hand, was too busy watching Finn paint ontop of Green's shoulders.

with each passing day, mick felt more withdrawn. he felt helpless against the void that threatened to consume him; a feeling of emptiness that worked its way through his veins like poison. a poison he was painfully used to, and long ago thought he had found the antidote for. but it seemed he could have everything in the world, and it wouldn't be enough to pull him out of this dark place he found himself in. it was no use. perhaps mickey was a lost cause after all, meant to cave under all the pressure the world put on top of him. to wait and see what else could go wrong, in a mindset where everything seemed to be going wrong.

it was difficult to explain such a strong feeling of emptiness when, on the outside, he looked just fine. it was especially harder to explain it when he had no reason in his daily life to feel such a way. sometimes he’d resort to being a bit of a recluse, holing himself away in the house. today was a bit of a different change of pace, seeing him out and about around the district. hands in his pockets, he slowed to a stop at the sight of the kids painting the wall.

he stood a ways away, observing the mural-in-the-making and the kids hard at work. the stirling kids seemed to be enjoying themselves, along with the other flintlock kids... all of them painting the wall without a care, laughing happily with each other was a reassuring sight to see. then again, did he ever doubt green’s ability to make them all feel welcome in the district? not even for a second. his gaze lingered on arlo’s partially-blue face, squinting his eyes just slightly before he asked, “and what happened to you?”
arlo smiled to himself, shaking his head as he painted, mumbling, ”green…”

of course. he looked towards the man in question, watching finn happily paint - perhaps getting more paint on green’s head than the wall itself. crossing his arms over his chest, he sighed gently before he pointed out, “if you wanted to get back at him, now would be a good time.” arlo giggled quietly to himself, looking at green as if he was contemplating it. mick quirked a brow green’s way before looking down towards licity and paige. looking back towards the wall, he searched for an empty spot at felicity’s level. it looked like paige was going to have to risk getting covered in paint, too. "looks like you might have to."
