[align=center][div style="width: 430px; text-align: justify; font-family: calibri; font-size: 8pt; color: black; line-height: 22px;"]☁  holy fuck, when had she turned into this? into this mild seeming woman who baked bread and knitted socks and worried so much? once upon a time, she'd been hayley, the woman who could outdrink most grown men, who played russian roulette and the knife game, who did stupid shit and acted like a twenty-three year old. and nowadays? nowadays she was hayley, some mother hen, fretting about everyone's well being. it was almost nauseating, and yet, she couldn't fight off the instincts.

eloise was a quiet girl that, truth be told, hayley didn't know squat about. she was young and kind, at least she seemed as much, caring tenderly for her cow. she was shy, as much was apparent, but hayley couldn't help but fret over her as a mother of a small girl. hope was weeks old, not years, but hayley thought about her future frequently, about who she would be. she couldn't think about it, refused to, but there was always that nagging voice that reminded hayley that not everyone lived. whatever had happened, eloise was here without a family, and she didn't ever want hope to be in that position. but god forbid her daughter was... she wanted someone to be kind to hope.

so hayley was headed down to the barn, where the little girl always seemed to hole up, a tupperware container of soup in one hand, a piece of bread wrapped up on top of the container, and an extra blanket in her arm. if she was going to hide down there, hayley could respect her desire for solidarity, but she wanted to make sure she wasn't going cold or hungry.

as she entered the barn, she saw brendan, and nearly jumped out of her skin in surprise. ❝oh, hey, i wasn't expecting to see you down here.❞ she said, clearly spooked, but quickly righting herself. ❝i, uh, brought eloise some soup and a few extra blankets, it's chilly down here.❞ she explained, but said loud enough for her voice to intentionally carry, glancing around the barn in hopes of spotting her somewhere.

Eloise Edwards - a small thirteen-year-old girl who is part of Flintlock Lodge. She tends to hide in the barn with her two calves: Dipper and Mable. She's quite shy, not making many friends at the lodge yet. She's single and quite jumpy.

The noise of one of the calves shifting around made El turn to them, finger to her lips. Quiet. The voice was familiar, making her poke her head out a little more, recognizing the boy who usually was with the chickens. She couldn't remember his name though, if she even knew it.

She would make herself known upon hearing Hayley, who she knew well enough to know there wasn't anything to be scared about something. The person she heard must have been the boy. Eloise came out from where her two calves would live, closing the door of it behind her cautiously, as if there'd be a reason to bolt back in before it closed.

El walked down to meet the other two, her jacket still on Mable as a blanket. She looked at the blankets that Hayley had "Can I give them to Mable? It's cold in here at night and she has less fluff than Dipper" her voice was quiet, but definitely full of concern for her little friend. This was also the first time she'd mention two calves, as she had now just gotten Dipper.

She glanced between the two almost nervously afterwards, she really didn't know anyone well and this included even Hayley (though she probably knew her best). People always made her a bit nervous and she hated being a burden, but at the same time there was just...too many people usually up in the lodge. She much preferred hiding in the barn.

[align=center][div style="width: 500px; text-align: justify; font-family: helvetica; font-size: 9pt; line-height: 1.4;"]Having been raised on a farm for his whole life, Jay knew a good deal about livestock and animals in general. From trimming overgrown horse hooves to even helping in delivering a litter of baby goats, he knew how to take care of most furry friends. Upon discovering that the Lodge had a barn and stables and someplace to house his stallion, Jay had been pleasantly surprised. This place, although nowhere near a golden meadow and a dry and windy plain, was as close to home that he could get at this point. He didn't want to even try and trek down the mountain on Angus, not in the middle of the snowy hell that was winter.

Hearing voices from around the barn, where Jay had been organizing some craftsman tools, he curiously dipped his head into the door and found... Hayley, the kid, and the other small girl. They were crowded around what appeared to be two calves, and with this, his breath nearly gave way. He had not seen a baby farm animal in months, and he could not help the soft spot he held for them. "Cute lil' guys, aren't they?" Commented Jay, assuming that he was allowed to butt into the conversation. He casually folded his arms, standing with his mountain boots planted on the barn floor.

"They got a mama that they could feed from?" The Southerner asked, glancing around for an answer ( not knowing that Eloise was considered their primary caretaker ). "Otherwise... they'll need as much hay and grain as they can get. If they wanna survive this winter 'n the next one, they're gonna need to bulk up 'n grow in their coats." The calves could not afford to be without their winter coats in this deep freeze.

She closed the barn door behind the highland calf, her new friend and new big brother for Mable. She hadn't been watching to see if anyone was watching her, but paid no mind when it came to bringing the boy inside the barn. She led him over to where Mable stayed, unlocking the stall door, leading him in, and shutting it behind her so they wouldn't walk off. Eloise took the lead off Dipper so he could go meet Mable, watching and hoping they'd be friendly.

Luckily the two did get along and it wasn't long before the two were laid down near each other, El would lay near them, her head using Mable as a pillow. "You guys are gonna live together here, okay? That way nobody get's lonely and sad." she explained, petting both calves at once. Dipper was a lot softer than Mable, he would definitely be less of a worry in the cold weather. El didn't mind either way, just as long as they got along and were okay.

She wasn't sure how exactly she'd get the two calves to her room if she had to keep them warm, but she'd figure it out. They were babies, she had to take care of them. Eloise took off one of her jackets, putting it on Mable like a blanket "Just in case, okay? I'll take it back when I leave. Hayley might get sad if I don't." she explained, though she went silent hearing the barn door open. Someone had came inside.

Eloise stood up slowly from where she laid, both calves watching her but not getting up. She peaked towards the door, trying to stay hidden just in case it wasn't someone from the lodge. The small girl was never armed.
