A web of lies, a world of hate,
I'm so insignificant I shouldn't even rate.
In the grand scheme of things,
Do I matter surrounded by princes and kings?
There is no meaning of truth,
Or if there is it is aloof,
I don't know what to believe anymore,
Just turn your back and slam the door.
Lie to me I might believe you,
Speak to me like I might need you,
Tell me things you tell your closest friends.
Or ignore me til the world ends.
I don't need you, want you, care about you anymore,
I don't have too, try too get any better than you,
Because no matter what you lie, and say that you're sorry,
We're from two different worlds and you can't understand,
That even if you hurt me, undermine me, act like I don't matter,
I will always get up and survive that fall.
It's around the time of hopeless surrender,
But without my white flag you're not much closer,
This castle is a fortress that you can't storm.
So, just remember that you've been warned.
I'm happy who I am, and I don't need to change,
No matter what you do, say, or think.
I don't want to, have to, need to ever behave,
Or wonder what you'll ever think of me.
'Cause I'm happy, healthy, home and free,
So I could care less what you might think of me.
The truth is that you might have meant something,
But after reflection I know that you'll never bring,
The joy and happiness that I know I need.
You used to make me hate myself,
Until I realized how pointless it was to think about what you thought I was inside.
So goodbye, I don't need you anymore,
I have gone my separate way.
I don't care if you kick yourself out the door,
But we all know that you couldn't stay.
I'm happier than I've been in a while,
Learning to love even my style,
I hope nothing will change as I continue to grow,
Except, of course, well, you should know.[/sup]
