evans cavey was uncertain. she rarely ever was, so when the woman wasn't sure about her fate there was usually something to worry about. perhaps it wasn't a matter of life and death today, but it certainly a matter of acceptance or utter humiliation.

evans didn't have time for utter humiliation. she wasn't even sure if she cared about what others thought or not. perhaps she should, after all sometimes people wanted what was best for you, but sometimes people were malicious and needed to be disregarded. the only person whose thoughts she cared about, evans decided, was wolfsbane. they had been together for some time, although she truly couldn't remember the exact moment they had gone from strangers to friends. perhaps that was her fault, the lines heavily blurred between the two in her own mind.

but that didn't really matter right now. there they were, together, at the border of flintlock lodge. at least she figured it was a border, although drawing an imaginary line around a mountain and staking it off for a personal power trip seemed impractical in her eyes. ah well, the customs of such groups would have to be accepted in her tired heart if she wanted to get along with everyone.

"Well, I suppose we would just wait here," she murmured absentmindedly. she would appreciate having a passion project once more. "You ready?" perhaps she was making a mistake signing away her freedom in the nonchalant attempt that she was about to make, but not living in a group got boring sometimes.

[please wait for eskie to post with wolfsbane first!]

[align=center][div style="width:500px;text-align:justify;line-height:15px;"]How much freedom were you willing to sacrifice for safety? The thought of joining a group was one that came with resistance. Bane was never one for dedicating his loyalty to a certain group of people- and certainly not people he had yet to know. But with his resistance came his rationale; continuing on like this, like wandering nomads in an apocalypse was unsafe. It was the easiest way to get killed. Perhaps he hadn't cared enough when he was truly on his own, but since he had met Evan, that mindset shattered. Now he had a true responsibility, a true motive: keeping her safe.

They had known each other for perhaps a month or two, and it may not seem like much, but the constant company of another really brought you close. Especially when you were a man of few friends and many foes. They bonded easily, and with friendship came a certain responsibility. He was no longer just taking care of himself, but of Evan as well. If any wrong was to come to her, he could not live with himself for not doing everything in his power to prevent that.

So, with that, the man trailed behind the femme, eyes narrowed as he surveyed the area around them. "As ready as I can be," He replied a bit sourly. Bane exhaled as he stood beside Evan, glancing to her to read her face. He knew she was just as uncertain about all this- and she was the decisive one between them. It wasn't exactly comforting, but Wolfsbane knew they were doing the right thing. After all, their alternative was a riskier option. It was moments like these Bane wished he was an optimist.

hayley was all too familiar with the sensation of uncertainty. the high you felt in your head as the world moved too quickly and you couldn't keep up; the way your heart pounded as panic seized it and you questioned what came next; the familiar tremble of her bottom lip as she tried to think on her feet. she'd lived alone all her life, to varying degrees. truth be told, hayley wasn't even sure hayley chase was her name; more uncertainties. but she did her best with what she had, and she always came out alive and relatively unscathed.

joining flintlock was certainly an uncertainty. well; it was less so joining as it was showing up and sharing the lodge with damian. but she was happy, happy with cleaning up the empty building and cohabitating and hoping that she might help it become a somewhere once more. she'd traded some degree of freedom, but hayley couldn't care about her freedom anymore. she couldn't care about her own safety anymore, either. everything she did, waking up in the morning and fighting for another day, it was for the baby within her. whoever they were, they mattered more than anything else. if she had to put some elbow grease into the lodge to make a home for them, then dammit, that was precisely what she'd do.

"not ready for anything too terrible, i hope?" hayley called above the wind, hormones putting her in a rather friendly mood that morning, bearing a wide, charming grin as she glanced between the two. she wore so many coats, it was impossible to tell that her reason for living was hidden beneath fabric and flesh, due in a few months. "i'm hayley, and i guess you're, like, right around the border of the flintlock lodge. can we help you guys?" she inquired, glancing between the two with bright eyes, clearly curious and hopeful.
