— she cut all of her hair off when she was nine and pretended to be a boy for two years to protect herself, because where she lived girl's couldn't fight back and boy's could. oneshot maybe, or she'll mention it icly.
— seems pretty nice and low key, but like the scars on her back say a lot, and every now and then she'll say some wild shit really casually. "break is knee's, you'll cripple him for life." "when you're skinning someone, you've got to go light, otherwise you'll kill them." like shit that makes you look twice at her.
— she can totally fight, she just doesn't. maybe at some point she spars with someone and like proves she can fuck you up, but points out that just because she can fight doesn't mean she ever will again.

mother passed away when seren was seven, putting her into her sisters custody.
»  her sister passed away when seren was nine. she cut her hair off and joined a group of boys, pretending to be one, trained to be a mercenary.
»  at eleven, she was "found out" and tortured to near death for this. upon escaping, she would proceed to kill the people who had been a family to her for years.
»  did freelance mercenary work for three years, often fighting for people in exchange for food.
»  at fourteen, she was picked up by a group that often raided and killed for supplies. she stayed with them for two years before a mutiny occurred, and the group fell apart afterwards.
»  continued freelance work for two more years.
»  at eighteen, she was coaxed into a marriage by the political leaders of the group she was in at the time. the marriage was unconsummated, the two parted ways as friends, and seren considers it invalid.
»  she was stabbed several weeks later, nearly dying. as she was bleeding out, she had a change of heart. upon recovering, she swore off killing, intending to devote her life to healing.
»  arrived in new carthage, working as a healer for nearly two years. eventually, she climbed the political social ladder to suffet of peace, though more than a few people distrust her for her history, and her tendency towards neutral views between the parties.
