[align=center][div style="width: 400pt; text-align: justify; font-size:9pt; line-height:1.7"]"The Quiet One"
"This character isn't The Speechless, and is "definitely" not The Voiceless. Nor are they the Ineffectual Loner. He or she (or it) just rarely talks, so anything which IS said carries extra weight. In most instances, The Quiet One is physically imposing, and is either The Big Guy or The Lancer - perhaps also a Gentle Giant or Genius Bruiser.

This character's quietness may be a reflection of deep psychological problems."

"Failure-to-Save Murder"
"Say there are three characters, Alice, Bob, and Charlie. There is a tragic accident, and Charlie is killed. Alice was present when the accident happened but may or may not have been able to prevent his death. This trope comes into play when characters discuss whether Alice could be considered the murderer of Charlie. Generally, there are three parts in this scenario: the Child (the person who died, Charlie), the Hero (the person who failed to save the Child, Alice), and the Fool (the one who blames the Hero for failing to save the Child, Bob).

A second version is when Alice blames herself for the death of Charlie (playing both the Hero and the Fool). This trope is very much a Gray and Grey Morality trope and plays on ideas of guilt and responsibility."

"Roaring Rampage of Revenge."
"The Roaring Rampage of Revenge differs from the standard Revenge plot in that our hero dispenses with the Machiavellian plotting that would define a classic revenge tale and goes straight for the bloodshed, either in a single, violent Unstoppable Rage or Tranquil Fury-fueled rampage on the bad guy's home base, or a more methodical "working one's way up the food chain" from lesser foes to the bigger fish."

"Vengeance Feels Empy"
"A powerful plot element, pursuit of revenge may be a driving motivation for a character. It may even be central to the plot. Upon finally exacting his revenge, rather than the sense of satisfaction he may have expected, he may get... nothing. Maybe it wasn't really worth it, or maybe he just doesn't know what to do with himself now. If they were avenging the death of a friend or loved one, they may belatedly realize that the deceased would not have approved or that it will not bring back that person and instead of blind rage, they now have to deal with actual grieving. This is one of the bad results of ignoring Forgiveness.

Confucious said that "Before you embark on a journey of revenge, dig two graves." This is because a person who chooses the path of revenge has condemned a part of their spirit to be stuck in the past and eventually destroyed which ends up making them worse off than before when the object of their revenge is destroyed by their hands and they feel little to no satisfaction after doing so."
