P L O T T I N G
Hello, hello and welcome to Henry's plotting thread! Henry is a stressed, paranoid boy. He's a good man, though, and he's easy enough to get along with. If you'd like to see more information on his personality or other characteristics, please refer to the link to his biography in his signature. However, if you have signatures hidden, here is a link to his biography. If you'd like, you can make suggestions below for what your character and him could do. If you want them to interact but are not sure how, then feel free to utilize the suggestions to the right of this box. As a side note, I adore long-term plots (especially since regular interaction threads are prone to dying off pretty quickly); thus, if you've got any ideas whatsoever, please feel free to throw them down below! The only plots that Henry is not currently open to consist of flings, having children, adopting children (he's just not in a good mental state, at the moment), romance (specifically him crushing and getting into relationships with other characters), and being killed. Also note that I am 100% up for the threads being open instead of just private.
ENEMIES/DISLIKE Although Henry isn't one to make enemies, he and another character can end up disliking/hating one another for varying different reasons. Reasons your character could dislike him, for example, could be his inactions (for example, him not acting out when he could've [like in the event of a raid]), his high-strung personality (he is extremely wary of strangers so he is often jumpy and anxious around them - perhaps that aggravates your character for whatever reason), his concealment of information (ex: his past or who he is as a person/creature), or not progressing a relationship (as a future plot, for example, your character and him have known each other for a long time; however, he still seems to refuse to get any closer to them and talk to them about his past/his issues). Remember, those are just suggestions, if you have another idea or something to add on, please do say so!
ENEMIES TO FRIENDS Perhaps your character hated him for whatever reason (for example, he didn't act out when he should've and it caused someone close to your character to get hurt in some way) but something happens or a series of events occurs that causes your character to reconsider their stance on Henry.
FRIENDS This is definitely something that has to be built through a number of open and private threads. Henry is not someone who will become fast friends with another due to a number of different factors. Among those factors being his personality, past experiences, and the situation he's in (i.e. waking up in completely unfamiliar surroundings in a body that is not his own). Thus, if characters hit it off well with him and expect to become friends with him super quickly as a result, they are in for a rude awakening. While Henry does not like to be rude towards others and even hesitates to snap at people, he has found his own way of conveying that he wants to be distant from another character. If your character wants to become friends with him, they will have to find ways to carefully worm past his defenses with gentle persistence and careful wording. Henry can be put off pretty easily, even by the most minor of factors. Therefore, if he finds that your character is trying too hard to become friends with him, he will only continue to push them away and likely ignore and even actively avoid them. All in all, becoming friends with Henry has its own art, but the payoff is worth it. His shell will melt away when he is around them; he will smile, laugh, and make jokes more often. He loves making his friends laugh and likes to have fun with them, even if it is over something as minor as a silly little game. He is one to adore some friends in such a way that he considers them the equivalent of family. On a more serious note, as cliche as it may seem, Henry is one to stick by his friends through thick and thin. He will make sure they are healthy both in mind and body, and devote as much of his time to them as they to him. Lastly, it is important to note that, to Henry, a relationship is founded on trust and fairness. Those two ideals are the main key to building and keeping a lasting friendship with him.
ROMANCE This is something that is extremely limited in plotting. Henry is not in an ideal spot for a relationship at the moment, due to factors that have been mentioned beforehand. Thus, he will not be getting in a relationship or crushing on anyone until things quell down for him. However, since characters do indeed act upon their own devices, they can crush on him if you would like. It might make for an interesting plot for them to be turned down. As a side note, he has no predetermined relationships; however, if you think your character and him might have a good dynamic for romance in the future, feel free to PM me or post below.
TUTORING In all honesty, Henry has next to no experience on surviving in the wilderness whatsoever. Namely, he doesn't know how to hunt or fight. Thus, if you want your character to take notice of this and attempt to train him, I am 100% open to the idea.
SUSPICION As mentioned briefly beforehand, Henry is one to conceal a lot of information about himself. Thus, if you want your character to become suspicious of him over his evasiveness (for example, they might think he's a spy), you are more than welcome to.
CURIOSITY/CONTAGIOUSNESS/FEAR Henry is basically a walking corpse and he sure does smell like one with a touch of chemicals like he's waltzed out of a laboratory. He also has ink leaking from his orifices and wounds. Not only this, but Henry is going to continue to rot and leak even more of that inky substance as time goes on. Thus, if you want your character to be curious over him and have a session of questioning, have an issue where they think he might be contagious, or them being afraid of him once he rots more, then that would be fine by me!
