[justify][color=black]His hand was as healed as it was going to get at this point. After Trevor had snapped the bones and reset them properly, bandaged them and Dylan cleaning them every few days, the hand was still a mess but a... Manageable mess. Some fingers were still wonky and the back of his hand would forever be scarred and bruised, but he was alive and that was all that mattered. He was breathing. He was living. He was functioning. He wasn't insane. Although not a lot, it was enough.

Dylan himself was exploring the city. It was too big and too dangerous for him to have visited every single block in the short years he had lived here, so exploring it every now and again came as a pleasurable past-time. The bike he loved so much was hidden in his make-shift apartment and the brown-haired boy was set for walking thanks to the healing graze on his ribs.

He approached a square building standing alone at the end of a block. There was a word he was unfamiliar with above the giant marble steps and his sneakers echoed noisily as he jogged up towards the oak door. Without a second of hesitation, Dylan hauled it open and stepped inside. Now, he wasn't sure what he was expecting to be inside the giant, abandoned building, but it wasn't... Books. He had never seen so many in one place and the boy's mouth opened in surprise. It was one of the worst buildings for him to discover because he couldn't read and didn't know what a library was (Oh, the disadvantages of being born after the blackout, how he loved being young) but nevertheless, it was an achievement. "This place is crazy." Dylan said aloud as he walked in further.
