This wasn't a good time for Johannes, no matter how good they were doing right now. As a group, with Gray safe, they were actually doing better than ever. They had food, they were safe, their projects were going well and he had more on the horizon.
Johannes himself was stressed, stretched thin, and hadn't found a release of any kind in over a month. He was pent up and angry; and it showed. He was impatient, waiting for the others before he started the meeting.
"Right. Pay attention. I'm looking for people who can step up. If you think you're cut out for a position here, take a look at the tryouts." He cleared his throat, glancing around the room. It wasn't as fully populated as usual. "The greenhouse is going well and we have seedlings from St. Peters. Is anyone here well equipped to take care of them? Talk to me. We need more who can get a reliable harvest." He glanced quickly at the notes. "Furthermore. I am working with Tatiana of the Badlands and Wolfbite of St. Peters. We will likely be having a sort of....gathering in the near future. However, I have other plans. We are going to start sending emissaries to the other groups, with a small peace offering and trying to get information. The more alliances we have, the better. When I set up weekly tasks, that's going to be our focus."
After a long hesitation, he looked up once more, trying to lessen the scowl. "...I want to ask you all for a favor. If you...want to work on something to improve this place, let me know. I'd like to know what I can trust you with. What skills you have. I'm sure anyone here understands that if I don't know what you can do--I can't know what I can place in your hands in good conscience."

Narin listened quietly, an almost bored expression on her face. Johannes was announcing some important stuff so she paid attention, though she also kept an eye on the man himself. He'd been showing quite a bit of weakness lately, and tensions in the clan had been high, so she was wondering how he'd handle that.
Or.. Not handle it. Perhaps it was in his best interest to avoid those topics, to not give any rebels a reason to butt in. He needed time to rebuild respect in his image, though Narin personally wouldn't forget what'd happened as of late; she wasn't perfect, and if there might be a split in the clan she had to be prepared.
"Understood, boss." Narin spoke after he was done talking. "I'd be happy to help improve- I'm experienced in both hand-to-hand combat, proper gun use and care, and.. I'll list my other skills in private if you want, but I don't want to upset anyone." Narin said cautiously. If any of her other talents were wanted she'd gladly put them to use, but she was certain she didn't want to list them in front of a crowd.

Gray shuffled in, a hooded look in his eyes as he took up a spot near the back. The youth eyed Johannes warily. No acknowledgement of what had happened, he seemed to be focusing on moving things forward, especially when it came to politics. "You already know what I can do." He muttered, glancing at Narin when she spoke. Her skills were upsetting? In his pockets, his hands clenched into fists. What had she done for the Felixes? Deal drugs? Shake people down? Kidnap people? Assassinate them? He narrowed his eyes.

Narin watched Johannes quizzically and resisted a sigh. She'd put the warning label onto her own forehead, she shouldn't be surprised at the way he looked at her as he thought.
"..Yeah sure, I can do that." Narin said after a moment. Training some of the others in self-defense? That hit too close, but she did want to try and help out around here. "What sort of training? I'm not comfortable in holding just a general self-defense." She'd always left the basics to people lower in the pecking order to take care of, least when she was still with the Felix clan and therefore she was only used to holding way more specific classes.
Gun training. That was what they needed, because it was what more of htem were...less experienced in. But he wasn't going to just give her permission to get out a bunch of guns around a bunch of newbies. He didn't know her well enough for that, and the fact that she might be a spy or something with a penchant for destruction veered him off that path. "Why don't we discuss that in private. I'll ask you about...some other questions I have." He figured he might as well, where people weren't just gathered to gawk. It would put her far more on the spot. Not to mention, the less he had to do in a crowd, the better.
