take the world in a love embrace (private)

It chilled her bones and the biting wind tugged and pulled on those darling, golden locks. Maybe it would not be so bad if she was allowed outside to explore; Connie could ignore the freezing weather if the adults would let her wander the vast snowy wonderland. But Mommy and the other scary men (and women) remained steady in their assertion that it was too dangerous for a little girl to run around by herself. "But Mom" Connie would protest, "I wouldn't be alone - Haddy would be with me." Ah yes, the other twin. Her and Haddy always had the most fun, but he always got her in trouble. After the last time he did it, Connie decided she was going to ignore him.

Knobby knees were folded up beneath a small chin, forehead pressed against a chilled window. Her breath steamed the glass, obscuring her view of the wintry forest beyond the confines of the lodge - but that was okay, Connie just pretended that she was soaring through the clouds. This little daydream would not entertain the girl long, her toes tapped and a single finger twirled and twirled through a lock of her hair.

(lol this sucks)
