So, I've been thinking about this for a little while and thought that maybe it would be a fun idea to prompt character development and concepts! Here's how this thread will work:

1. Every once in a while I will post, in bolded text, a question for you to answer about your character(s).

2. Then, feel free to respond on this thread with your answers! Take time to think about the question and elaborate on your answer (eg. why is that your character's answer? do they have any relevant memories? have they always had the same answer to this question? do you have any relevant headcanons for your character?)

The character development questions will vary, and so it'll be interesting to see how everyone answers for their characters! Hopefully it'll be a fun way to develop your characters, and perhaps this will be helpful for everyone in plotting between all of our characters!

Is there a particular genre that they love the most? Any genre of music that they dislike?

[size=8pt]okay okay i had to do some Big Thinking about this

for addy, i feel like it's fairly easy. i think he's a classic rock lover. maybe even jimi hendrix ? ? all along the watch tower ? that'd be kinda iconic
i feel like he dislikes any genre aside from rock honestly. like i can see him and lucerne clashing a lot with their different music tastes ASDFASDF

as for mickey, this is so much harder . because i don't think that mick is that big on a lot of songs. he grew up in a household that played the oldies - primarily jazz - so i feel like that's what he's familiar with. but i feel like green is helping him Broaden his horizon ASDFASDF

what about your characters !

Green’s father was once in a cover band and, whilst he never had the chance to meet his father, his mother tried to raise Green in a music-loving household. Green was given all of his father’s vinyl CDs and so Green’s music taste is highly influenced by the desire to feel closer to his late father. He loves 70s anthems particularly, as that was his father’s favourite era. As for favourite songs… Green has a few. I imagine I Will Survive by Gloria Gaynor as being one he shamelessly knows all the words to, Fall At Your Feet by Crowded House was his father’s favourite song so I imagine Green would’ve held that song close to his heart as it means a lot to him. Also, he loves Elton John but are we really that surprised.

He doesn’t listen to anything that isn’t instrumental, but then again he was raised in a very austere and formal household of high achievers musically. He was raised on all things classical, mainly as that was the music that he was taught to play on his violin. His mother is also a violin player and has always loved to inspire Lucerne to appreciate classical music. His father was too focused in his career to ever influence Lucerne musically.

Jot down a couple of words that remind them of their upbringing. Ideas include scents, objects, colours, places, names etc.

[align=center][div style="background=transparent; borderwidth=0px; bordercolor=; width: 400px; font-size: 8pt; line-height: 125%; text-align: justify; font-family: arial; color: black"]i think that mickey's childhood is the one i can envision most out of all of my other characters. he had a great childhood, even while he was sheltered from the new world for the majority of it. his home was where he spent almost all of his time growing up. i think there are some objects that defined his childhood, such as his teddy bear and his dad's old pocket watch. his dad had an affinity for skimming through old newspapers, so i can picture him feeling a sense of nostalgia whenever he sees a worn-out newspaper article. a place that mick remembers most vividly would be the staircase where he would sit and watch his dad and brock talk into the late hours of the night. as for a scent, he spent a lot of time in the family's fenced-in yard, so i think the overall smell of earth and fresh air could bring a sense of nostalgia for him. his dad was also a frequent smoker, so i believe that the smell of cigarette smoke is almost a comfort for him, and makes him feel closer to his dad sometimes. as for sound, i believe that old-time music, such as songs from the 50s, is definitely a childhood comfort for him as well, since tamara was always playing the music throughout the house.

he didn't have much growing up, but i feel as though there are some distinct memories. when i think of his childhood, for some reason i think of stale fruit loops cereal? the color, the taste; something about it seems nostalgic to me? i just picture their home to be run-down, but for some reason i associate it with pale, bright colors that make it seem better than it actually was? i imagine their apartment always feeling a bit stuffy, but the memory of a worn-out, dusty couch is a fond one for him as well.
