yes! ppl pls lurk and join in, i love talking this stuff

& omg, inny, i live in a rlly big serial killer state too. it's Frightening. and i hate when older generations always are like "things are so much more dangerous now!" like,, ma'am, you lived and grew up in the serial killer boom, i think we learned from you

& i always think those are so interesting! especially when they're willing to talk about the things they did and give an insight on their behavior and things like that, it's one of the biggest reasons i'm interesting in crime and criminals.
john wayne gacy was so gross, and just any pictures of him really tend to haunt me, i get the uncomfortable feeling too
oKAY!! i only recently really started diving into jeffrey dahmer and the amount of times this fucking mediocre white man was able to avoid getting caught and the complete incompetency of the police around him genuinely is astonishing?? & yeah! thats exactly what happened. and he was FOURTEEN, naked, and bleeding on the street and,,, they j walked him back into the apartment. and he explained it by saying he was asian and asians look young.... and in the police recordings, they're literally laughing about the call. i Cannot

there's this disappearance that happened in my town in the 80's i believe that i've been reading about a lot. her name is misty copsey and it's really eerie to look into because i can so vividly imagine where she went missing from and i have walked that same way at the same time and there's a lot of discourse about it because this armchair investigator thinks she was a green river victim but the evidence doesnt pan out and it shows the bad history and track record my state has with missing person investigations and reports

so, inny's thread reminded me how much i love discussing true crime and things like that.

ofc, please include tw when discussing specifically terrible things, but this is a thread talking about death and crimes, so there is a general tw for the whole thread lol.

also, this isn't to glorify or look up to any serial killers/perpetrators, i fee like this goes without saying, but just making sure. and if you feel the need to do that, respectfully, please get help and get better idols! as well, i will Not tolerate any disrespect to any victims, that's beyong fucked, i cant even begin to explain.

okay! so, basically what're yall's favorite cases? any little cases that drive you crazy? feel strongly about a certain theory? any things that were close to home? and unpopular opinions?

i live in the city that josh powell blew up his house with his sons inside. i think thats the earliest memory of true crime for me and the closest to me.

[size=8pt]wow yes tracking the hell out of this

the state i grew up in actually is in the top ten states with the highest numbers of known serial killer murders/victims so
huh
growing up i was more likely to be killed by a serial killer than most people in most other states were....
that's fun and reassuring to just find out about : ' )

i went through a phase where i watched serial killer Interviews which i think was interesting (?)
i think the serial killer that always Irks me and makes me so uncomfortable to think about would be john wayne gacy ? because i meaN
clowns get bad enough of a reputation keep that disgusting pennywise-acting serial killer ass away from me no thank you[

and jeffrey dahmer with that whole thing about convincing the cops that his escaped victim was his partner ? ?
so they let jeffrey just take the guy back into his home or something ? i could be getting this wrong it's been a while
makes me sick

what about you ! ! any cases you've been looking at recently ?
