— fred had been working on his bow and arrow skills ever since the last group-wide target practice. it wasn’t that he had the best shot out of the group - he was sure there would always be better - though he certainly loved to inflate his own ego and show off. he had invited others to come out and practice their shots as well, offering that he would be more than glad to help others as well. even if this little session seemed more about fred showing off around others as he stood at a target, releasing a few shots, he was still around to help.

he watched as he released an arrow from the bow, landing right on target. he grinned and looked around at the others that had joined, as if expecting them to have noticed and to give him praise. when that didn’t immediately happen, he cleared his throat and looked around. surveying the scene, he ended up asking, “alright. how’s everyone doing? anyone need help?”

[align=center][div style="width: 400px; text-align: justify; font-size: 12px; font-family: calibri; letter-spacing: .6px; color: #494949;"]joey has never been super into or interested with archery. she likes her knives and doesn’t deviate all too much from them, unless with hand to hand combat, but she’s a bit out of luck with that one at the minute. plus, a knife fight might be a bit too close for comfort with being pregnant and postpartum. any advantage she can get with her current circumstances until the whole aiden situation blows over is one she’ll take. hearing there will be archery practice, it’s something she can’t justify missing to herself. she’s been dreading it, but joey forced herself there.

little attention is paid to which now she picks, a faint frown on her face from having to do something she really doesn’t want to do. joey has a little experience, she knows how to hold it and work it, but could probably count on two hands how many arrows she’s actually shot. the aiming is a struggle, being used to fast pace of knife throwing, a much different approach to taking aim. she lets a few fly, completely missing the target because she can’t really keep the bow straight. the fact that she isn’t a prodigy with her first couple tries, joey instantly wants to quit. she glances around, taking note of who’s there and if they would notice. just as she feels like she’s in the clear, she locks eyes with someone a few people down. she swallows a sigh, shoulders drooping as she grabs a few more arrows.

with some more trial and error, joey begins to figure it out, finding what works for her and trying to stick with that. however, she feels fatigued already and her arms are beginning to ache. she doesn’t want to be, she wants her body back and her physical capability back. out of pure spite, joey pushes on and slowly begins making the target and moves towards the center. freddie’s question barely registers in her head, everything blurred by her blind determination, “ yeah, yeah... fine, “ she answers what she’s assumes was his question, hoping it would shoo him off so he wouldn’t see how bad she’s been doing.
