now, if you would have told middle school lucius that he was going to have a set of twins with the girl he had fallen so hard for, at such a young age, he wouldn't have believed you. he was scared out of his mind when fallon first told him she was pregnant. they were too young to be parents, and had moved all the way to hawaii for college. there was no way, he thought, they could do this by themselves. but he had seen the way she lit up when she told him, the bright smile on her face, and he melted. he had become putty and cupped her face and told her he was scared, but he couldn't have asked for a better person to be the mother of his child. then came the day they found out it wasn't one child, but two. twins. his heart had nearly stopped at the discovery and he had to take a moment for himself outside to calm down. twins.
moving back to san francisco to be closer to family was the best choice they had. they weren't going to be alone through it for the first few years, they were going to have their friends and family to back them up. he remembers vividly the day the twins arrived, actually. five years ago, they had been sitting, having a late lunch double date with hayes and adelaide. they had just gotten their food when fallon went into labor. it was a long night. he remembers the nervous excitement he felt being able to hold aria in his arms and then brin. he remembers adelaide and his ham comment and, actually, getting kind of annoyed by it. he had already gotten so protective over his kids and they had barely just taken their first breath.
and now, sitting here on the white sandy beach, in hawaii, with his wife and two kids, he has never felt happier. lucius gently takes aria's little hand and tugs her towards him. ❝ aria, no. you need sunscreen, ❞ he mumbles, as if aria was even listening to him. he locks his legs around aria so she can't escape and gets some sunscreen lotion in his hands to rub on her little arms and legs. he looks up at fallon with a big, toothy smile and the most lovestruck gaze. ❝ do you need some for brin? ❞

if you would have told little lucius day he was going to marry his best friend fallon rude when he was older, he probably would have believed you. there was no denying that fact. when they played house with their friends, they always made sure they were the mom and dad. they shared their snacks, their juice boxes. they told everyone they were going to get married, even if it was once a harmless little joke between toddlers. the concept of love beyond your parents or your siblings was too complex for their young minds, but lucy knew whatever feeling he had around her was different than when he was with the other girls in their class. the way he felt so compelled to kiss her cheek when they said their goodbyes at parent pick up, the way he went on about her to his dad and only spoke about her. he had boy friends, yeah, but for lucy no one could beat fallon on the fun scale. hayes and her had held such important roles in his life from so young.[div style="background: url(https://data.whicdn.com/images/324091280/large.jpg) center; background-size: cover; width: 120px; height: 120px; float: left; margin-right: 8px; margin-top: -2px;"]
