tlamihua: it's over//
it didn't take long for theo to get used to their new home. they were so comfortable that they were starting to gamble with their members. they knew it wasn't a healthy hobby but what do they have to lose anyways.
their mother had told them stories about their father. how he would be late out at night gambling with his friends usually coming home without money, and really they hated it. they hated their father. they hated his gambling obsession. but they were nothing but a hypocrite. someone doomed to follow in their father's step and there was no return. theo knew that and they accepted it.
it was poker that the small group was playing. glances thrown at each other trying to read each others expression. theo could tell they were nervous and they only let out a small snort "tlamihua." they had said the word in their native language rolling out easily.
they had looked away when the other players looked at them. "What's so funny Zhao." a player hissed out glaring at the blonde. theo knew they hadn't heard the words that came out of their mouth or they most likely didn't know what it meant. they didn't reply and only shrugged leaning back against their chair before placing their hand over their mouth hiding the infamous grin of theirs.
the person who hissed out at theo just glared at them for a bit longer before smiling out placing the cards in their hand down on the table for the rest to see. "seems like i win."
theo couldn't help but laugh, placing down their hand for the other to see. "think again, corazon." three 10s and two jacks. a full house. dead man's hand.
the other stood up suddenly knocking over the chair pointing at theo. "you cheated!!" they yelled their face turning red in anger only making theo laugh once again still sat down placing their feet up on the table top a amused smile on their face.
"prove it. prove how i could've cheated and i'll admit it."
the player only stared at the other mouth hanging open not saying a word. "oh close your mouth you look like a damn fish out of the water." theo had spoke up their accent thick yet their words clear. it seemed like the other had enough of theo's words stepping back before pulling out a hand gun pointing it at the blonde.
"you're really going to shoot me, huh. you know very well that the money you're losing tonight can be gained back immediately. now if you really do have the guts then shoot me. i dare you." they said drawing out the last sentence slowly as if mocking the other. theo knows very well what they were doing but it didn't matter now. if the person were to pull the trigger then everybody would know that they didn't care about their members but only their greed.
