[align=center][div style="borderwidth; width: 450px; padding: 0px; text-align: justify; line-height: 12px; font-size: 8pt"]Hello! Welcome to my guide of Traditional Warrior Cats Naming. In this thread, you can find the rules to naming, prefixes, suffixes, and what everything means. If you have any questions, feel free to PM staff or post a reply on THIS thread.
Rules to the traditional naming process can be found on THIS post. Prefixes and their meanings can be found on THIS post. Meanwhile, Suffixes and their meanings can be found HERE.

CLAN CATS
Naming for clan cats seems a bit difficult but thats what Im here for. Firstly, warrior names involve a prefix and a suffix. Their prefix describes their appearance or place of birth, an example being Oakspirit who is either dominantly brown or born near an oak tree. Their suffix is where things get a bit confusing. As kittens, from the age of newborn to six months old, cats are given the suffix -kit, which is short for kitten. Moving on from there, from the age six months to typically twelve months old, cats are bestowed a new suffix by their leader, -paw. This implies that they are an apprentice and while not a kit, they have yet to grow of age to a warrior. Finally, and most importantly, at twelve months old, apprentices are given a new suffix. This one is unique to the individual and will describe either their personality or their appearance. For example, someone who is unwaveringly loyal to the code will be given the suffix of -heart. Should a warrior eventually become leader, they will accept a new suffix, -star. This suffix will be retracted and they will be given their former warrior suffix, should they ever step down.
LONERS AND ROGUES + the difference
Loners and rogues are feral cats who neither belong to a clan or a human. They have much more freedom with their names than warriors. Loners often go by human names and animal-based or object-based names. Such as 'Sol.' Rogues, being former clan cats, can go by those options or even their former warrior name.
KITTYPETS
Unlike any other group, kittypets are the only ones able to be named based off man-made objects. On top of that, they are also able to be named human names or animal/object-based names. Out of all the groups, kittypets have the most freedom with their names. However, names are most likely to be bestowed upon them by their humans, rather than
GENERAL RULES
On top of all that, there are, of course, a few more rules. For simplicity's sake, I will keep this short. For warriors, the prefix of Star- is forbidden along with any sexual/meme-esque names. With the exception of kits, the suffix -kit is forbidden; an exemption for apprentices, -paw is forbidden; and finally, with an exemption of leaders, the suffix -star is forbidden. For loners, rogues, and warriors, man-made objects based names are forbidden, as cats would not be able what the name is implying/what it means. Try to think of them like people who have never been around society, they use synonyms for many things and do not understand their usage or capabilities. Names such as 'Winter' or 'Knife' wouldnt be allowed, for example.
Note: Joiners who were once kittypets, rogues, or loners are allowed to keep their names post-joining a clan but will be discouraged to IC-ly.
