PERSONALITY |
&. Ruddyfang is generally known in other Clans as being hotheaded and thorny, and some have whispered that he surely wants only to expand borders, fight other clans and bring harm to all who oppose him. However, most interactions with Ruddyfang are at the border when a Clan is getting too close to his territory, and what he says at the border is pretty much entirely hot air. None of his snarky comments and sinister threats to a random border patrol reflect who he is at heart. He's merely someone who plays his cards well, using other cats' fear of Shadowclan to his advantage—he keeps the other Clans afraid of Shadowclan to keep his Clan and all of its members safe. He does not seek territory, war, or harm to any cat, and truthfully, he's one of the most peaceful cats out there, normally choosing a rational route rather than fighting. However, that doesn't mean he won't flash his claws and talk big when he needs to, because if push comes to shove, he will go to war. He's not a pushover in any way. He may have a big bark, but that doesn't mean he doesn't have a bigger bite.

&. Though cats outside Shadowclan know Ruddyfang for his battle-ready personality and his sharp tongue, those inside Shadowclan see an entirely different side of his personality. As Ruddyfang is intensely family oriented and extremely proud of his Clan, he's always been respectful to his Clanmates and superiors, never treating others how he treats cats at the border. He's emotionally rather open, and is always ready to listen to anyone who needs it, even if he's not all that great at dealing with emotional problems. He's one to tell others to face problems head-on, and sometimes he can seem gruff and strict (especially toward apprentices), but it's only to push others to succeed and become a warrior Shadowclan can be proud of. He's a little lost on how to deal with fearful or insecure cats in the Clan, but is one to take time out of his day to try and work with them, and he will never leave a cat behind. He's open to kittypets, loners, exiles and rogues, as long as they show promise in being a loyal member of Shadowclan, and only judges a cat based on its work ethic and drive to succeed. Despite the insults he throws around at the border, Ruddyfang is truly an open and welcoming cat—you just have to get past an initial layer of distrust and prove yourself, and then he'll accept you as a true warrior of Shadowclan.

&. As for traits that aren't seen by the common warrior, Ruddyfang has his fair share of traits that he tends to hide from the eyes of cats he doesn't know very well. For one, he has trouble controlling himself if one of the cats he cares about is hurt in any way, be that physical or emotional. He holds grudges for what seems like forever, and if a cat is to cross a family member or a friend, he will likely lash out and become far angrier toward them, even to the point of threatening their life. It's unclear if he'd go through with any of his many threats, but judging by the fire in his eyes when he tells a cat he'll kill them if they step one more paw into his territory... Well, it's unwise to push him. Another trait that he doesn't like to admit to, softer in nature, is that he's afraid that he won't be strong enough to protect the cats he loves. With love comes responsibility, and Ruddyfang is always hit particularly hard when one of his fellow warriors is harmed—he has a mentality that he could have stopped it, he could have been there to help... And he'll go around in a circle, thinking about that incident forever. It's because he's so loving deep down that he has a major flaw—a weakness that no cat should be ashamed of; he loves too much. Sometimes he'll act gruff and irritable to hide that fact, but it's unmistakable. He's a loving cat, and it definitely shows, no matter how much he tries to hide it under his bitter tone of voice and prickly fur.

APPEARANCE |
&. Ruddyfang could be described as a somewhat intimidating cat, despite his small size. Standing at only nine inches at the shoulder with a weight of six pounds, he's small for both his age and breed, and is below the average height of most cats. However, he carries himself as if he's the most intimidating cat in the clan, holding his head high and keeping his chin lifted, and he refuses to be seen as nonthreatening despite his size. He is physically masculine and is currently four years and two months old. He is a ruddy Abyssinian mix with an unknown lineage, but his breed leans mainly to Abyssinian. His fur is short, thin, and a muddy reddish-brown in color, and he has a mottled look to his fur that comes from the normal ticked markings of Abyssinian cats. He has no prominent accent, but his voice is recognizable due to the loud, confident way in which he speaks. Though he doesn't keep his pelt perfectly groomed, his fur is easy to manage and is short enough to stick to his body, slimming him down rather than making him look larger. Though he's small, he does have a good amount of lean muscle that shows mainly in his shoulders and legs. He has a moderately wedge-shaped head, large and pointed ears, long legs, almond eyes, small paws, a thin tail and a pink nose. His upper canines have been slightly long since his kittenhood and stick out slightly past his upper lip to create a small pair of fangs, and his eyes are a bright, sharp yellow.
