Maybe he was just used to it thanks to living in the mountains for a few years, but he didn't understand the people griping about the summer cold. Sure, it wasn't warm or anything, but it was nothing compared to the freezing temperatures of the upcoming winter. That was some cold to complain about, at least in his opinion.

Those were thoughts that briefly rushed through his mind as he heard a voice cursing the chill, until the fact that it was an unfamiliar voice registered. Then he turned his head, squinting as he tried to make out who'd spoken. "H-hey, whatcha doin' up here?" Normally people came up here to join, and the voice didn't sound like it belonged to someone looking for trouble, so Gray approached him casually.

[align=center][size=8pt]The sound of someone else's voice made him wince, spinning around so fast he got dizzy. Man, he should have packed more water or food... "I-I um, I'm j-just looking for uh, St. Peters?" He bit his lip, taking slow steps away from Gray. He didn't want to be around someone if they were going to attack him. He was a Badlander after all. For some reason Trevor thought everyone could read it off of his forehead, that he was from the Badlands. Which were...well, in Trevor's eyes they were bad. He'd only joined to try and learn to defend himself. Nobody there had taught him much, though...

He was looking for St Peters? What the hell was he doing up here then? "In my experience, one usually has to go down the mountain to get there, not up." He advised, figuring based on Trevor's destination that he was either a member of St Peters or hoping to join, never even thinking that he might be a Badlander. "You got a name?"

Re: Sword and Pen - Private, Gray - Deleted Characters - 08-08-2017

[align=center][size=8pt]Poor Trevor wasn't ever good at finding his way without help. His father had been around for that, and he didn't miss him a bit. He missed his brother, though...and the fact that his brother had once had a compass that sort of worked if you tilted it a certain way. Harley always did pick up shiny stuff. "I-I'm sorry," he murmured, looking at his feet and backing up another step. "I-I just heard they tr-trade I don't- I didn't know where...at all," he swallowed and cleared his throat. "T-trevor, um. Trevor Hunter," he said quickly, his full name was important to him. It meant he was professional.

Gray wasn't the best with directions either - as a matter of fact, he'd ended up getting lost on his way back from St Peters and found himself near the Badlands, as he'd gotten separated from Johannes and Narin after talking to Advay - but he had a general idea of the direction to go from the Lodge to St Peters. He gestured in that direction. "I think you'll have better luck going that way." Trevor Hunter, his full name? He didn't often feel the need to give his full name, usually out of paranoia, but he did now anyway. "I'm Grayson Hanson." He stuck out his hand for Trevor to shake.

Re: Sword and Pen - Private, Gray - Deleted Characters - 08-08-2017

[align=center][size=8pt]The rhyming of Gray's name made him laugh a little, reaching out with a timid, boney hand to shake the other's hand. "I like it...your name I mean. U-um," he frowned, staring down at the direction towards St. Peters. "I didn't, exactly bring a-alot of food?" he swallowed hard, holding a hand to his stomach. In the Badlands, he was a grunt of prey, so he hunted for everyone in the group... he wasn't very good at it, and because nobody else hunted for him, he had to scavenge for himself. He was probably the weakest of the group, and definitely looked it; he'd nearly starved more than one day this month. That being said, he hardly had enough food to make the journey this far. "D-do you have so-some I-I could trade for here? I have um, herbs, and... seeds and stuff," he frowned ,staring at the little basket he held. It wasn't a lot. They probably wouldn't help this place too much. he hardly expected it to help St. Peters. They must be big and self-sufficient to be a trading hub...

Re: Sword and Pen - Private, Gray - Gray - 08-08-2017

Ah yes, the rhyme in his name. He wasn't too fond of it himself, even though it was pretty much self-imposed. He'd chosen to replace his biological family's surname with Diana's, and he'd chosen the name Grayson. Still... He did usually introduce himself as Gray. "Thanks." It was kinda nice knowing that someone liked it. "Most people just call me Gray, but I don't really care." Really, as long as no one called him Aria or something mean, he didn't care. Well, he didn't really like flirty nicknames either. Luckily, no one had tried to refer to him as anything other than Gray or kid since joining the Flintlock Lodge.

He certainly looked like he needed some food, and he couldn't say he was surprised to hear that Trevor didn't have enough. Trading, though? That was a little bit of a surprise. He only had herbs and seeds, but wasn't Johannes looking for those things? "Yeah, c'mon up to the Lodge. I'm sure we've got some food to trade." If not... He'd just have to hunt something, he supposed.

Re: Sword and Pen - Private, Gray - Deleted Characters - 08-08-2017

[align=center][size=8pt]Trevor kind of hesitated, staring up at the direction Gray's footprints came from. "You have a l-lodge?" His forehead furrowed curiously. Man, this placed seemed weird. Did they all sleep in the lodge? In the Badlands, everyone had to find their own place to stay. Trevor's home was the equivalent of a shack. At least it had been the furthest away from everyone else, and still was pretty far off. Despite being a Badlander he didn't like any of the rest of the badlanders at all. Well, maybe Mettaton and John. "Um, o-o-okay," he huffed, hugging the basket closer too him. Hopefully it wouldn't take too much of his stuff, or he'd have to go back and get more...then get more food, go on another journey. This entire thing was starting to seem incredibly dangerous to him.

For other people the danger might have lied in the wolves or other people. Trevor's most prominent fear was starving to death while traveling.

Sword and Pen - Private, Gray - Deleted Characters - 08-06-2017

[align=center][size=8pt]Trevor had spent the last few days recuperating. He'd not been sure what happened, but he'd opened his eyes to a blinding pain in his right hand and a poor man behind him had his head beaten in...he wasn't wanting to admit that he probably did it, all facts considered. But despite that, he was back on the hunt for St. Peters. He'd been to plenty of small groups but none of them knew of St. Peters. He'd thought perhaps he'd gone in the wrong direction, so he'd come this way instead, and boy was it cold. Shivering violently, the small boy was wearing only a torn up shirt and a big denim jacket he'd found, holes in it that appeared to be by design. Which was a shame, because he really would have liked a regular jacket. One that kept his back warm too. He shuffled further into the Flintlock territory, in his arms he held a basket of what looked to be herbs and plant seeds. He'd wanted to trade them there but he wasn't sure this cold was good for them.

With a sigh, he knelt onto the cold ground and took his demin jacket off, wrapping it around the basket to keep the herbs warm. Why would St. Peters even be up here? He felt like he was going to cry, he was just so tired. "Stupid cold," he huffed, staring at the trees around him.
