okay so i have this amazing gif i want to use as an avatar for this account but i think it only used the first frame. how do i get it to move?

usually it works for me when you use the option to link the avatar, as my computer can't save gifs as actual gifs.
did you try that or do you not have the link? :0

Hmm...the only solution I can offer you is to run the image through a Google Images search and find a similar one that does have a link. Placing a downloaded GIF as your avatar won't work and it will remain as a still image.

If it's an "https" link, try removing the "s" part and see if that works.
