i've finally decided to try and get active again in some capacity, so here's a storage thread for me to put ideas and other things for characters. feel free to track and post in here as you please, and if there's anything you wanna take, go ahead (so long as it's not writing/an idea/a personal or specific graphic/piece of art)! i'm not the best at coding anyway, lmfao.

the song in this post and in the title of this thread is prometo não prometer by salvador sobral (and luisa sobral)! it's one of my favourites and i recommend it if you like soft songs.

character idea 1
﹠| faceclaim: bill hader (who's 41, so the character will probably be around that age too)
→ an attempt at a character who has a conflict of identity, rather than a conflict of belonging. he's not on the run from something external (see: james, julian, damian), but rather from something internal, which causes an impossible struggle, as escaping oneself is impossible. also, he's my first genuinely not-exactly-athletic-fighter character. julian is the closest i've ever had to that, i think, but even he boasts incredible durability, and he's pretty good with a sword or gun. this guy... just isn't. at all. with anything.
→ i'm probably projecting here but i want to give him anxiety, or depression, or perhaps both. maybe sad because same, and maybe he's medicated for it (or was, but travelling means he's running low or has run out?). he does a pretty good job of hiding it, but probably turns to self-medication behind closed doors. he's probably also very loud.
→ in a past life, he was probably, like, a raccoon. one of those round lazy ones.

﹠| julian devorak | i just kinda... miss him. he was a complete moron and i loved that.

→ has a character arc revolving around an internal conflict of identity; he [tw: drugs, alcohol, addiction] suffers an addiction to painkillers and could be very vulnerable to future alcoholism. tbh, if he had reliable access to alcohol, he'd probably have slipped into alcoholism already, but is presently just addicted to painkillers. [tw end]

→ un-athletic and not trained in any form of combat, whether melee, ranged, hand-to-hand or with any sort of weapon. in general, he probably can't run for more than thirty seconds unless he's genuinely scared shitless, and even then, he tires quickly.

→ probably has anxiety and/or depression. possibly sad? he is / was medicated for it (he's most likely either running low on medication or recently run out due to travelling, and [tw: drugs, addiction] is likely why he's turned to painkillers [tw end] to cope). he does a pretty good job of hiding his mental illness in public, putting on a loud, chatty front, but he's sometimes prone to obvious shyness, and when drained, can become muted and exhausted-seeming. nevertheless, he always aims for levity if he can.

→ terrified of large dogs, but tries his best not to show it. he often tends to deny his fear while maintaining that he's simply not a fan of them, but there's something humorous in his barely-leashed panic as he tries to handle their presences.
