People were bored around here, huh? Well Salem had one thing to say to them, and those words would be figured out as soon as they were spilling out of his mouth. Probably shouldn't have hosted that one-man wine tasting earlier, whoops.
"Alright, get over here you useless bullwackers." He wasn't quite sure what bullwacker meant, but it sounded like an insult. "I've got a list of chores, and I know none of you have anything better to do."
But wait, the abrasive and generally rowdy people of the Badlands might need a bit more of an incentive to work. He figured he wasn't coherent enough to beat anybody up, and he'd promised Cat he wouldn't demean everybody too much.
"Whoever does the best at their task gets this shiny... Uh, cat I found in a dumpster. She's real hissy, but she'll probably be soft after I give her a bath." Salem said, holding up the dented cat carrier full of one pure black, angry streetcat currently hissing and spitting up a storm.
"Alright, now look through this list and cross off what you're going to do. I'm gonna wonder why the sun is so bright today."
Okay, hi guys! I'm hosting weekly tasks this week, and I'm trying out a bit of a different format this time to see if people like or dislike it, so let me know your opinions on how to make it better or if I should go back to the regular format.
So this week I have a list of tasks, which you can post and claim with your character immediately. Once the thread about your character doing the task is up, it'll be a race to see who's task thread gets the most replies by next Monday.
The person who's thread got the most replies by Monday wins the cat! Or optionally, your character could decline the prize and the cat'll go to the next runner-up.
If this format turns out to be successful, look forward to more varied prizes and tasks in the future! But again, please give me your opinions on this; whether it be in an OOC portion of a post on this thread, or through a pm. Critiques, advice and ideas are always welcome!

—Spend a few days training your aim with a firearm

—Learn three new facts about someone who's been in the Badlands less than two months

—Spend a night bar-tending at the casino
—Tend to the horses at the stable; clean the stalls or take one for a ride
—Host a karaoke night, with snacks
—Non-lethally spar with someone
—Find and give nicknames to as many birds as possible

— bullwackers? addy tried not to roll his eyes at the remark. and everyone always seemed insulted or put off by his nicknames for others. at least he didn’t go around calling people bullwackers- whatever the actual fuck that meant.
but it only got worse when salem explained why the hell he wanted everyone’s attention. he was handing out chores to everyone, and whoever did chores the best could end up getting a cat that salem had found in a dumpster. seriously, weren’t there enough cats - he noted as he glanced at their leader - in this fucking place?
while he didn’t seem particularly inclined by the incentive, he still made his way over towards the list. eyes glanced over the paper- and you know what, these chores didn’t seem that terrible. especially - “i’ll bartend.” the redhead made his mind up the moment he saw it, figuring that would be more up his alley than any other suggestion on the list.
