 there really wasn't too much addy figured would be mentioned in this meeting. still, as catalyst went jogging up the casino steps, addy still couldn't help but wonder what the hell was going to be talked about. paige's relatives that had stopped by, joined? ... salem's plans? was that even something catalyst would talk about? he contemplated that as he wandered closer to the casino. strolling up the steps, hands shoved in his pants pockets, he glanced around before finding a place to settle down at his usual spot.

But they were getting ahead of themself; there was an order to this, and they weren't feeling chaotic enough at the moment to want to rearrange things.
"So we've got a whole ass fugging laundry list of Paige's half brothers that joined, so welcome to... Zepheniah, Dimitri, Malachi, Nicodemus and Aleksandr. Jesus fucking Christ." They thought that would be the end of it, but no, Paige piped up. "Zephaniah. Get it fucking right." They rolled their eyes. "Zephaniah. Happy?" Before she could reply, though, they were moving on.
"Alright, so there's the matter of Salem. Can't say I trust him much farther than I can throw him, but I'd be a fugging idiotic asshole to ignore what he's done. He meets all the good marks, aside from that trust factor, so I'd like to give him a bandanna and a promotion to Officer." Maybe that wasn't the most glowing endorsement, but considering how infrequently they gave any sort of recognition?
But that wasn't all, oh no. "Lastly, I'd like to promote Addy to Second in Command. Don't get any ideas about offing me now that you're definitively the next in line." As if it would have been anyone else even without the promotion. They were joking about him offing them, of course; they weren't too worried about that happening. Hmm, maybe they should be - fucking paranoia. Fuck off with that. "Oh, and since I've consistently been forgetting to, Addy you also get the Enforcer title."

and, shit, he was getting promoted to second in command.
for a moment he didn’t even fully know how to react. how do you react to getting told you’re basically the leader’s right-hand man? catalyst’s oh-so-clever line was sure to briefly throw him back on the rail of defensive, shooting a remark under his breath (that shouldn’t be taken too seriously) along the lines of, “if i really wanted to i would’ve done it by now.†and, he hated himself because it made him think of lucerne’s fucked-up humor and response to everything --
he lifted his head to look at them, and perhaps the nicest thing he ever said in his entire time at the badlands; “i’m honored. thank you.†let the whole world fucking look in shock at him actually being a decent person for once. … as second in command did he have to start being a more decent person? fuck. let's hope not.
he filed into line, eyeing all of the stuff that catalyst had out. only when it was his turn did he glance at catalyst, the earrings, and then back to cat again. “those aren’t for me, are they?†a pause. “does it look like i want holes in my fuckin’ ears?â€Â

 he shook his head, a half-smile coming to his face that mirrored catalyst’s own. there hadn’t been a chance that addy would’ve hurt catalyst. they got along fairly well, he liked to think. if there was anyone in this goddamn group that he somehow managed to trust, they had been one of the select few. not that he’d ever give them the satisfaction in knowing that (even while he was fairly certain that catalyst knew that much).
he glanced between the studs, then catalyst, then back to the earrings again before he begrudgingly took them- taking the handcuffs and swapping bandannas a lot more willingly. guess he’d have to get these damn holes in his ears. he’d see how that went.

Well after his and Cat's... Conversation, he'd decided to take a little nap and get all those clamoring emotions out of his head, and a small nap turned into a large nap and now he had no idea what was happening but he got shoved up towards where Cat and Addy were currently talking.
"Oh, that one's... Mine? Thanks, cap." Salem said, taking the bandanna as graciously as he could with an award-winning smile which hadn't actually won any awards. "Blue, I like it, really lovin' the blue." ⇥ Catalyst is 6'2" tall; they possess a lean and muscular body, one that has a variety of old scars adorning it. One of the easiest to notice is one that stretches down their right cheek. While not a scar, one very notable marking on their chest is the "BL" brand. They have two piercings, one in their tongue and the other in the cartilage of their left ear. They typically dress in dark colors (favoring jackets with some sort of writing on the back), and their hair is black. They're not all dark, however, as they have pale blue eyes that peer out from beneath medium-sized eyebrows.

⇥ Catalyst is ambitious, with the cunning and ruthlessness to reach their goals by any means necessary. They can be brutal when they feel it is needed, however when it's not they won't bother. They tend to be rather aloof and apathetic to most things and people, with some very rare exceptions. Provided those around them don't cross a few specific lines, they're content to leave them be, though they've been known to take an interest in some people, which seldom has a positive end for whoever their interest is in. They can be manipulative, and will often encourage people to make bad decisions. Those that stick by them will be rewarded, but those that do not will be cast out, as they've been outcast for their entire life and have learned to appreciate loyalty wherever they can find it. Even during the most stressful of situations, they usually keep a firm grip on their temper and keep their calm, though when they do snap and lose their temper, it is uncontrollable. They're remarkably observant, often able to deign much from subtle clues in what people say, how they say it and how they act.
