THRILLER! // ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE AU - Wolfsbane - 07-08-2019

[align=center][div style="width:500px;text-align:justify; line-height: 110%;"]It was mid afternoon when Bane found himself prying two dogs off one another, the animals snarling and snapping and baring teeth. ”Release!” The man snapped to the aggressive german shepherd, pulling the dog by its collar, away from the doberman, who used Bane’s actions as leverage to snap at the shepherd, setting them both off again. Bunch of assholes. ”Hey!” He growled in surprise as the shepherd wriggled free from his grasp and latched onto the doberman’s scruff again, causing a domino effect for Bane to grasp for the shepherd’s collar again.

Finally, Bane had the german shepherd back in his grasp, this time awkwardly holding the animal by its back legs to prevent it from going anywhere- a trick he had learned back in his doggie daycare employment days as a kid. ”Get! Back!” He snapped to the doberman, who growled but ultimately backed off, leaving Bane with the shepherd. The brunette knelt down, now switching his hold to the dogs collar again as he waited, letting the animal cool off. ”Asshole. You’re supposed to attack the intruders, not your kin.” Bane mumbled as he looked around the city.

A figure in the distance approached, their gait a bit uneven, and their face unrecognizable. Wolfsbane held up a hand to block out the sun, squinting in effort to make out the individual to little avail. The german shepherd in his hold froze, his tail between his legs, ears back. The animal began to snarl before suddenly thrashing and biting Bane’s hand, running off. Bane winced, grasping his hand and looking over the bite as the dog ran off, turning his attention back to the figure still approaching. He slowly rose to his feet, squinting as the other grew closer, closer, closer.

His feet shuffled upon the pavement, dragging his feet over the hard gravel. His arms hung limply by his sides, swaying with every step. Wolfsbane took a step back, startled as he realized the man’s face bore a bullet hole through his forehead, blood trailing down his face. ”H-Hey! Do you need help?” He wasn’t sure whether to go for his walkie talkie or his gun. Where was Caustic? Bane had never seen anything like this before.

”Caustic? Ros? Any medics, help!” Wolfsbane shouted, eyes wide as he stared at the bloody man.

Re: THRILLER! // ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE AU - CAUSTIC - 07-09-2019

[align=center][div style="width:500px;font-size:9.2pt; text-align:justify"]One of the dogs ran by Caustic, but it wasn't the kind of run that said the dog found something more interesting, or that someone happened to use a dog whistle- pooch looked spooked, and hearing Bane shout wasn't exactly doing any favors for Caustic's blood pressure. Finding him was easy, and seeing the issue- that was pretty damn easy too. Some kinda injured fucker, looking to be so far out of it that they weren't responding to Bane at all, except shit got weird when he trotted closer to see the gaping hole in their head.

"What the fuck?" Caustic closed the last bit of distance and set his hands on his shoulders, pressing them back to get a better look at what the hell was going on, except as soon as he touched him, he lurched toward him with a rasping growl. He shoved him back at the sight of reddened teeth. "This ain't normal boss." Yeah, no shit. Guy was shuffling toward Caustic with more intent this time, making another godawful sound and reaching out with cracked fingernails.

"I'm only gonna tell you once to back up."

No response but a sudden lunge, and he planted a foot in the thing's gut, knocking him back. He'd never seen a bullet to the head pull this kind of shit; whatever happened, there was some obvious aggression, lack of reasoning. Fucker didn't even take the hint to piss off.

C released a heavy exhale as another attempt was made, but he wasn't willing to waste time on someone out of their mind with a bullet in the head. "Fuck it," he muttered, one of his hands closing over the handle of his katar. When he staggered close enough, snarling, he buried it up between his ribs, right through the heart, except- what the fuck? He yanked the dagger out to push the thing back again. Didn't show any signs of stopping, which made no goddamn sense. Caustic knew how to kill a guy.

"Bane, I don't know what kinda drugs this fucker's on, but he's not going down." He tripped him this time, sending the stranger flat on his back. Whatever was leaking out of his chest didn't look right. Blood didn't look fresh.

Re: THRILLER! // ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE AU - VOLATILE - 07-09-2019

[align=center][div style="width: 500px; text-align: justify; font-family: calibri; font-size: 9.2pt; line-height: 1.4;"]Animals weren't all that good at "supposed to". They did whatever the fuck they wanted — he's pretty sure dogs looking guilty is just a damn manipulation tactic. They didn't give a shit about supposed to and should have and needs to. He may not like 'em, but he felt that. It was easier to be wild and real than a human being. Maybe these creatures are just that — humans without the human being. Human-shaped with the instincts of something feral. It's cruel to think that he'll enjoy this, but god will he ever. Something new to fight and feel.

He follows Caustic's name when Bane calls it, nosy as ever. Something in the boss's voice puts him on edge in a fiery way. Electric adrenaline and a racing heartbeat. He's curious, standing off to the side and watching the antsy dog with unblinking eyes as the straggler approaches their city's borders. His home's borders, as reluctant as he was to ever say the words. They keep this hellhole safe, 'cause it was their hellhole. However often he gets that urge to tear up C in some patch of dirt or fight with Bane until they were both bloody, it's a strange sort of respect from someone with the heart of a wild animal. They've got his loyalty, both of 'em. All of the fuckers here, though perhaps to a lesser extent. They took him in when no one else would.

They took in almost everyone, so from this distance, Volatile is willing to give this shambling fucking stranger a chance too. Weird but not all that bad, maybe. Might have some mobility issues. Whatever, even the weak-ass idiots that find their way here get protection. He walks a little closer, fingers twitching to touch his palms. C's on edge now. He's close enough that he can see the recoil, the aim of his knife. His eyes flash with satisfaction — it's always fun watching those knives tear people apart. Likes seeing those last few seconds of sheer terror as they go.

But he doesn't fall to his knees. Doesn't touch his chest. Just keeps going like some kind of — some kind of machine. "You losing your touch, C?" He shouts, grin wild but eyes sharp, concerned. He looks down at this slow, shambling creature, leaking black out of its chest and its fucking head, and for some awful reason there's a thrill. Excitement. He drops to his knees and puts a hand in this thing's hair, clumps of it coming loose between his fingers, and drags the claws adorning the other hand across its neck. It leaves it in ribbons, that unearthly sound dying out to gurgles and then silence. But its hand thumps on the dirt, and its clouded, foggy eyes roll up to look at him, and, "What the fuck?"
