welcome home  character storage - VALEN T. - 08-17-2018 [align=center][div style="width: 500px; text-align: justify; font-family: helvetica; font-size: 9pt; line-height: 1.4;"]A messy thought dump / storage for Valen as I work on how he's changed over the months. I feel like I should just make him a new sub, but I probably won't. Anyway, if you're reading this, feel free to track or chat! My excitement for this guy is very high. KNOWN FACTS:  He's with the Moorland Riders, at least for now.  Either 22 or 23, depending on how I choose to age him. Birthday is November 4th.  Has spent the last few months wandering. (Decide how this changed him, dammit.) Re: welcome home  character storage - VALEN T. - 08-17-2018 [align=center][div style="width: 500px; text-align: justify; font-family: helvetica; font-size: 9pt; line-height: 1.4;"]The more I think about where he would be, the more satisfied I am with the idea that he's both more and less mature at the same time. Confidently shirks responsibility and may scorn authority when it's structured the way his home was  a strict hierarchy, little to no room for improvement of one's fortunes, etc. His dad is certainly dead now, I don't remember if I got to that point before I let him to. This left him stern and quiet for a little but I'm sure he found something that reminded him of Storm and kicked his ass lmfao. Left impulsively again, but this time he didn't have a goal. He didn't set out to learn or to distance himself from his home, he just needed to go. More self-serving but not at all selfish. Would give the shirt off his back to someone who needed it more than he did, will do everything he can to help others, but is very aware that he's not on this earth to be miserable. Confident in his own freedom. Has been thinking seriously about family for a while now, both assessing his blood family and considering the idea of settling down with his own. His mind hasn't fully accepted that he doesn't have to tether himself down to get married, so he's slightly,,, anti-relationship in a very weird way. People are lovely and he wants to kiss them, but he wants to be with someone who make him feel good and are willing to move with him, not ask him to be pushed into a box. Probably fully accepted that he has/had a crush on Storm. Still does, but is painfully aware that he may never see him again. May visit BL for a moment in search of the first people he ran into, but I don't think they're still there and he wouldn't stay even if they were. Slowly trying to teach Labraid to relax a little bit lmfao. This involves ponying a horse, which goes over... about as well as a wildfire with Labraid if he's not the one being ridden. Mostly because he's a very proud sort of horse who needs a strong hand to keep him in line or he'll try to head off. He's an experienced rider, though, so he manages. Definitely getting sick of it, though. May let someone else ride one of his horses, though it would take a lot of coaxing to make him comfortable with someone riding Labraid. Would have to be proven as an experienced, capable rider, and would need to have good chemistry with him lmfao. He's much more relaxed with Maggie but much more attached to her in a very personal way. Hurt either of them and he'll fight you. Still a bow guy? Yes, I think so. Not his original one, though. Talk more about this later. Time away from home, fending for himself, has made Valen more confident in his own abilities to hunt (for food, not fun) and take care of his own injuries. Overall fairly skilled at surviving. Re: welcome home  character storage - VALEN T. - 08-18-2018 [align=center] ♚  [ i am not the only traveler ]

He drags them against the stone wall and kisses them, an apology he can't actually put into words. But his fingers are wrapped tight in their shirt and he's insistent, sweet, lingers there a moment after his apology runs dry, forehead to forehead. And maybe they understand. He doesn't bother with being partially there. If he's uninterested, he'll leave and find someone interesting. Or he'll play along, but he does even that incredibly thoroughly. Nobody feels unwanted around him. Re: welcome home  character storage - VALEN T. - 08-20-2018 [align=center][div style="width: 500px; text-align: justify; font-family: helvetica; font-size: 9pt; line-height: 1.4;"]Notes on Valen's pets: LABRAID: Dark bay Dutch Warmblood with some white stockings and blaze. Sassy, high-spirited, well-spoiled horse. Incredibly well trained, however, and takes commands well from experienced riders. Will refuse to work with inexperienced or nervous riders. Can Smell Fear. They have no upper height limit, so he's certainly around 16-17 hh. MAGGIE: A draft/warmblood cross, though somewhat small for one. I'd say around 16-16.5 hh? A soft palomino color, pretty pale. She's very relaxed and easygoing, you can put a toddler on her back and she'll just kinda chill. Listens to even the newest riders but can also handle more advanced commands. Gently fearless and overall a good horse to have. UNNAMED: Small calico, very very small. I would say that she's about two months old now. Also fearless, but in a fierce kind of way. If she's not watched at all times, she will get into all kinds of trouble. However, she means well and is never malicious. Very sweet and eager to purr and cuddle. Loves horses, and probably everything else.
