[align=center][div style="width: 500px; text-align: justify; font-family: helvetica; font-size: 9pt; line-height: 1.4;"]Okay so! Reviving WNR a little bit? This is a brainstorming thread for a group I want to create, you guys are free to be a part of this however you want! Bouncing ideas around is always fun.

I think I want to utilize the radiation that was so inherent to creating this game, but I want to do it in a different way than normal in the sense that this group would be terrified of the radiation. They live underground in a gigantic human-made apocalypse bunker. The walls have a lead lining that completely negates incoming radiation, and most characters would spend their lives down here, but the upper territory is open for the braver members as well as people sent out to gather supplies necessary to live. I have to work out something for light inside the bunker. I want something that mimics electric lighting and the only thing I can think of is a bunch of tiny adorable NPC hamsters with elemental powers lmfao.

This is highkey inspired by Fallout and I'd like to stick somewhat close to that theme.

[align=center][div style="width: 500px; text-align: justify; font-family: helvetica; font-size: 9pt; line-height: 1.4;"]Social structure would be mostly unofficial, with very few HPs but many positions, if that makes sense. Leader, a head of security position, and a doctor as HPs. A second in command, security offers, and doctor's assistant / nurse as SHPs. Teachers, cook, all other normal social positions are not listed positions. I think that's where I'm gonna go with this, anyway. The group will utilize titles more than positions.

I am 185% behind that. I love Fallout and that would be such a cool style to take.
I like the social structure as well. Like with most everybody having a certain "job" to do, but not so much so that they're on the position ladder.
Can't think of much on my own for lights, but I do know it's possible to generate electricity via a generator that could be wired to need only a battery to run itself (well a battery that lets it rotate which is what makes the energy). Don't know how or why but there's that. There could be a group that works on it along with other maintenance work.

oh and as for the name we could use one of the settlements from the fallout game. I have a list.

[align=center][div style="width: 500px; text-align: justify; font-family: helvetica; font-size: 9pt; line-height: 1.4;"]HI YOU TWO! I'm glad you like it so far!!

I was actually thinking of using a Vault name? Like. Vault 101 or whatever? Though now I want to make a separate Megaton themed group alksdhf. Or Freeside. I love Fallout too much lmfao.

I definitely think there needs to be a maintenance rank, thank you for bringing that up! And I was thinking about generators and there are those that are powered by motion which would be pretty hilarious? Like you pull that duty weekly or something lmfao so you have to run/walk on these generators for a few hours to keep things running. It's excellent exercise.

Re: wnr group brainstorming — apocalyptic bunker/vault - waiakea - 08-01-2018

hoold on i made a group like this a few years ago n still have the notes. let me grab them.

edit: !! i'm most familiar with new vegas so a lot of the inspiration comes from that
— set in a arizona-nevada-esque climate, very hot and arid so not only is it safe to stay in the bunker for protection from the radiation, but the heat as well
— mutated creatures!! mutated people!! if it's allowed i think it would be really cool to incorporate things like ghouls from the game
— i know nv has factions (ncr, caesar's legion, house) so maybe there are branches or mini-factions within the group to resemble that?? like security, doctors, etc. if there's a better way to represent the main nv factions i can't come up with one rn
— there could be this tradition of leaving the vault as a "coming of age" reminiscent of fallout 3's protagonist, except they're just going out there to see what it's like at least once. they could choose to take a small object to sort of show they've become an adult of the group or what have you

i love the skills feature of the games but i'm not sure how to incorporate that into a group, so.. eh??

Haha I'm dying just thinking about it. Like giant hamster wheels xD. I mean ya gotta do what ya gotta do.

Ooo good ideas!! Yeah I think incorporating ghouls and other mutations could add a lot to it! I like the faction ideas so we could name the ranks rather than having them plain and dry.
The coming of age plot is really interesting. Like it could represent what the vault is so against and it could make some more immature characters realize the gravity of their situation.

I'm down with all this y'all! And I like the idea of calling it Vault 101

[align=center][div style="width: 500px; text-align: justify; font-family: helvetica; font-size: 9pt; line-height: 1.4;"]YES, FALLOUT.

BUT UH. So my muse did a complete 180 from Fallout to Pacific Rim in terms of inspiration and whatnot lmfao so if anyone wants to take over this idea, please be my guest! I think I'm going to work on a group based around the Shatterdome and that movie's concept.

Re: wnr group brainstorming — apocalyptic bunker/vault - Yourpalreedy - 08-05-2018

Thats okay Aureate! I haven't seen Pacific Rim but I do hear it's good!

I'm still down for the fallout ish y'all if anyone wants to get together in this thread or another one : P
