[align=center]Surely she would be able to get through the second day here at Hogwarts, right? It wasn't like the first had been so bad. The day before, Valerie had the luxury of being able to simply follow the crowd throughout the building. She walked behind everyone else through the large doors leading into the castle and past the hallways until they arrived at what was the Great Hall. Although she had gone through the process herself before the beginning of the school year, she was rather intrigued watching the first years get sorted into their houses. It was quite different how they'd do it back in Ilvermorny, as there was definitely no hat of any kind involved, but there was still the same amount of spirit. She wasn't necessarily nervous sitting with the other Slytherins, though definitely felt just as out of place as some of the new students. It wasn't very often that transfers would come in from America, and especially not during the seventh and final year. As such, it wasn't actually unusual for her to grasp the attention of many, whether it was in a negative light or a curious one.
Today was when things would actually start getting a bit troublesome. Although she had already taken a tour of the castle weeks before with the headmaster of the school, there was no way Valerie could've memorized her entire way around in such a short amount of time. So now, here she was, standing outside of the door leading into the Slytherin common room. Since the head boy and girl claimed they would be busy dealing with other things, they mentioned sending someone else to help her around. Valerie was sure that it would've been easy for her to figure things out if she was just given a map, but she decided to just go along with what the head students wanted. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad, anyway. Being with someone else would give Valerie the chance to start making some new connections.
While releasing a soft sigh from her lips, the Slytherin quickly brushed a hand through her thick brown locks of hair before tilting her head to gaze down the hallway. Now, it was simply a matter of waiting and hoping that this person wouldn't be too late.
