From the Japanese words (赤 / "red") and (木 / "tree"). Usually goes by the shortened version of his name: Ryū (龍 / "Dragon") to avoid both mispronunciations and the horrid butchering of his mother tongue. Currently twenty one years old. Born April 15th: Aries. Trilingual: English, Japanese, Spanish / Castellano. His family is deeply involved in various crime syndicates, leading to his twisted views and moral -- though I'll get to explaining more of that later.

[align=center][div style="background=transparent; borderwidth=0px; bordercolor=; width: auto; font-size: 9.2pt; font-family:arial; line-height: 125%; text-align:justify; width: 500px"]He stands in at exactly six feet and an inch, with strong, broad shoulders and a noticeably muscular build that borders somewhere between lean and stocky, though it points more towards the former. His hair is pitch black, the sides of his head being conveniently 'faded' out, leaving his hair slightly longer on the top in a stylish, slicked back fashion. Features wise, he's often described as being devilishly handsome. His nose is thin, and long, his jawline flawlessly defined, and his lips, surprisingly lush, paired with almond shaped eyes colored in a clear, yet surprisingly warm, toffee brown. If you look close enough, you can see a sprinkle of freckles that rest on his cheeks, and spread seamlessly across the bridge of his nose, up to the center of his brow. His best feature, no doubt, is his smile: pearly white, and undeniably cheeky.

Moving down, you'd be pleased to know that almost every inch of his upper body is tattooed in prominent, dark, black ink that contrasts rather obviously against his fair skin. His right arm is covered in a sleeve-like fashion, leaving no pale skin exposed as black, red, orange, green and charcoal colored ink form a fierce dragon, accompanied by Japanese styled koi and beautiful, autumn leaves. This piece cuts off at his wrist, curling onto his right pec. [click here]. His left arm is no different, the brighter colors swapping into light pinks and intense magentas in the form of lotus flowers, goldfish, and swirling waves. This piece also cuts off at his wrist, curling into his left pec. [click here]. Lastly, there's the piece on his back. The moon, accompanied by black, purple, and red swirling clouds. These clouds frame the back of his shoulders, wrapping themselves around his torso, down his ups, and up to parts of his neck. [click here]. These tattoos symbolize his allegiance to the boryokudo.

When it comes to weapons, he's old fashioned. His father has always admonished the messiness that comes with wielding firearms. They are quick to take care of the task, but unpredictable, and can be both utilized and obtained by anyone -- civilian and or otherwise. He prefers a wakizashi, a traditionally made japanese sword that's about twenty four inches long, the grip a solid black with the golden encrested design of a winding, chinese dragon. He's an incredibly skilled swordsman, to the point where it's both frightening and if your rub him the wrong way, life threatening.

Although no longer self conscious about how it may make him appear, he still instinctually closes himself off whenever he's asked about it. You see, being raised in the Gokudō comes with strict codes of conduct, one of which includes mutilation in the form of limb severing whenever a mistake is made. Instead of chopping off the tip of his pinky, as would have been traditionally expected, upon Ryū's mistake as a young boy the higher ups had taken pity on him solely because of his father's position. The 'compromise', a visible slash to the face.

He was kind hearted and good natured, naturally warm and inviting, and always thinking about the wellbeing of others. His feelings were easily hurt, a side effect of being so affectionate, and there was rarely a time you would see him without those large, cartoonish tears leaking out of his eyes, silently wailing into his hands because of something someone said, or because he thought he had done something wrong. Almost everything about the real world frightened him, and therefore more often than not, he clung onto the safety of his beloved mother -- a woman that he still, to this very day, loves wholeheartedly with every fiber of his being.

Since those simpler times, life within the gokudo has drastically reshaped his personality and how he views the world, some might say for the worst. Everything about him appears icier, the warmth he once held so close to his being shoved down into the darkest pits of his stomach, locked away where his father would not see it. Instinctual kindness was forcibly beat out of him. There was no place for something like that, living the life he did. It was a sign of weakness, and gave others the opportunity to step on you. In it's place, the higher ups instilled into him their strict codes and rules known as Ninkyodo, and their strong value of all things honorable. He's much quiter now, less inclined to speak as he knows all too well the penalties of speaking out of line, though his temper may flare from time to time. Work by his father's side has taught him to be smooth, charming, even. He's rather skilled in twisting up stories and lies, and putting words in the mouths of people, and even worse, making them believe those words.

Named after his great-grandfather who started the union, it was during his time famous for the illegal work it did behind the scenes running various brothels, where the majority of the clan's money was made. Later after the clan's foundation had been set and his great-grandfather had unfortunately passed on, the organization was inherited by Ryu's grandfather, Hisao Akagi, who in his youth had used the dirty money his father had made in order to dabble into the seedy underbelly of both big business and illegal gambling. This is now where the Akagi-Rengo makes most of their profit, Hisao Akagi still actively serving as the oyabun or godfather of the syndicate, with Ryū's father as shateigashira, or third in command. Ryū serves under his father, in a smaller division called the kyodai. Needless to say, they've used the blackout to their advantage, under seeing and managing shady black market trades as well as starting up small, yet successful gambling districts.

Just something for me to remember and elaborate on later.

Ryū can almost always be found with his nails painted in darker colors. His favorite color to paint them in happens to be a solid, matte black, though if he's feeling a tad bolder he'll go for a dark, navy blue or a royal purple. He comes from an incredibly old-fashioned and traditional family, and their views tend to be pretty narrow minded. Worrying about how it may effect his position in the Akagi-Rengo, he has yet to come out openly to his family as bisexual, and doubts he ever will. Painting his nails is his little way of quietly expressing himself and rebelling against his family's generally unaccepting nature without fully having to come out.

Fun Fact #2. Although he never openly speaks about it, Ryū is technically betrothed to a beautiful, young woman named Kazue Amemori whose father is being groomed for the position of future saiko-komon within the Akagi-Rengo. The Amemori family was known for running various casino based businesses before the blackout, and are notorious, illegal gamblers to this day. Looking for a way to expand his revenue, Ryū's father planned for them to marry into the Akagi clan before his own birth. Kazue was actually first engaged to his younger, half brother, the son of his father's sesai though after his unexpected assassination the engagement was unfortunately moved onto Ryū along with the title of eventual successor. Their relationship is complicated, to say the very least, and based on mandatory obligation to their families and their occupations. Although romantic feelings are one-sided on Kazue's part, that does not change the fact that Ryū cares deeply for her, and wishes nothing more than to protect her innocent and loving nature, even if that means getting her away from an abusive family through marriage. They're marked for each other, the tattoo sleeve on his left arm symbolizing her and his promise to save her and the red dragon on her back symbolizing her allegiance to him and his clan.
