NOTICE ABOUT WEAPONS IN WNR - aureate - 03-21-2018

[align=center][div style="width: 500px; text-align: justify; font-family: helvetica; font-size: 9pt; line-height: 1.4;"]Hey everyone, so with the WNR group poll closing tomorrow, staff wanted to get a little notice up about weapons in WNR. We've stated before that weapons need to be realistically held to be used — an animal holding a greatsword in their mouth to hit another animal is liable to lose their teeth, just that sort of thing. Our weapon rules still apply, so no guns, grenades, etc.

But since one of the main goals of the WNR restart was to separate animals from human influence, we also wanted to say that weapons are likely much more difficult to find now. This does not bar characters from finding them or using them, but much like with alcohol and drugs, we're going to be making sure that nothing gets out of hand with other human items. This is an optional thing depending on you and the character you play, but considering that it was likely a long trek from irradiated areas to where the groups are settled now, it makes sense that some weapons would have been lost along the way.

Again, these guidelines aren't strict, more of just something to remember. Thanks everyone!

does this still apply if you have the conjure/telekinesis abilities? I'd imagine you could just conjure the weapon and then levitate it to use it? or are their limitations there?

We do have a telekinesis ability right, aha it's been awhile

[align=center][div style="width: 500px; text-align: justify; font-family: helvetica; font-size: 9pt; line-height: 1.4;"]There is a telekinesis ability, yes! And characters would still be able to conjure weapons if they have that ability. Telekinesis allows characters to lift objects up to 3x their weight, with it being more difficult to hold the farther away it is. However, I'm not certain how much dexterity someone could have with that power, it might be slow to wield a sword or a knife, and I don't believe they could pull a bowstring or something?

would something like a wooden carved knife / dagger be acceptable?

Re: NOTICE ABOUT WEAPONS IN WNR - aureate - 03-22-2018

[align=center][div style="width: 500px; text-align: justify; font-family: helvetica; font-size: 9pt; line-height: 1.4;"]As long as it's realistic for a character to create it (or have had someone else make it, find it, etc etc) and use it, then yeah! I'm not sure how effective that would be, if it was made by animals? Since it takes a lot to sharpen a wooden knife like that. But that's up to the roleplayer and everything, so I would say yes since that falls under the rudimentary weapons allowed.
