any ideas on how to up activity - BORZOI - 02-12-2018
so the groups tend to fade in and out of activity, what with the small site and school and whatnot, and i get that. what would possibly draw you to flintlock, though? i'm not the leader or anything technically, but since me and [member=1366]aj[/member] and [member=2117]Shadow[/member] are in charge right now, i feel like we need to somehow help the group instead of hurt it further. is here anything y'all could think of that would interest you in joining or even posting more frequently? i'm not talking about changing the theme or anything, that's not what i'm making this thread for. i'm not asking to change the group itself, because it's not my group to change and i have no desire to change it anyway. i just need a few buds to at least help keep it running, since being tasked with posting on all the threads alone is a little taxing you know
so! anything we could do? mass adoptions? events? lay it on me

i feel like? the joiners lose muse and. idk why?? for me its more of a personal problem bc i made a character but my muse died like last night bc of my own reasons.
but i do kind of get like... idk. ive never known WHAT to word it as, but i think now, my thing is that it's bland. for me i interpret the lodge as this homey place, but like? when push comes to shove, its greatest feature is the interaction with other characters. with the badlands the appeal is the aggressive nature, while flintlock is the opposite. with flintlock, if you take out all the characters becoming families and etc, its kind of bland. theres nothing to bring new members INTO the family, it takes plotting and time to do that.
i feel like flintlock gets a lot of joiners, but nothing ever happens with them. the current first page has 7 joining threads, and the rest of the threads might be hard to get into or are old threads that are still being rped. i feel like, this might help --
- domestic big events. not big events, just... domestic ones. make it feel homey without having to know the other characters.
- more open threads that are easy to jump into. i counted 6 threads on the first page that i personally would feel is hard to jump into if you're a new member. keep in mind that this is excluding the 7 joining threads. theres 19 threads excluding the guide that i see in general, and 13 threads are hard for joiners to get into. and this excludes old or dead threads, too. my point is it NEEDS open threads that are casual.
uhm OK sorry this got rambly but? i love flintlock and it'd make me really sad if it went like Down . hopefully none of this sounds too harsh askdk. i feel like whats important is that there needs to be a way to keep joiners to stay. my joining thread got like 7 replies, and thats a lot for such a small group. but it didnt keep my interest. the amount of replies isnt everything, y'know? sometimes people just are interested in the character, but the group might feel dull or uninteresting. so do somethin that people don't have to be a long-term members to really participate in something! heck maybe a mass snowball fight. domestic stuff works! it doesnt have to be major group-changing events. askkf i tried to cut myself off in this paragraph but nope OK SORRY FOR RAMBLING THATS ALL

also when i very first joined with my first ever tnw character, the amount of casual open threads that were made canceled out the low activity or lack of posts for me. i rly rly rly rly think that casual threads or threads to post in are important!!
one way to encourage some is weekly tasks? weekly tasks can always rly boost the amount of open threads!!

noTED its cool!! dont worry about whatever i mean. like i said this aint my group im just trying to h e lp i t so im not super fazed by anything tbh
so more group activity threads like how old ladies in nursery homes play bingo together yep i'll do that
and i think i'll have my char be more involved now that he's trying way too hard to make himself an ok leader?? so like he'll kind of ask people questions and try and sort them into categories and that makes NO SENSE but i have a thing in my head now aksjhsjak

OH YEAH no i want weekly tasks and weekly meetings and the like (right now the schedule is wonky bc of the big thing that happened in the last meeting but hopefully next week it'll even out)
i definitely want casual threads, i'm planning on making like. at LEAST two based on your advice !!! + one stupid one ive had in mind just to lighten the mood slightly lmao
i think the issue w casual threads though is that people arent interested? like if you looked at a thread where its just a character doing some job or smth people dont tend to respond? idk if anyone's noticed that :^((

yeahh rip. i feel like its hard to get a good balance but? for me i just. cant do a lot of angst threads or joining threads bc it gets monotonous and if a thread is too old or kind of just filled with family im like "o this is awkward"
iTS def a bit hard but!! rn when i looked at the board and even yesterday i was just like "idk what to reply t o" so idk!! im def gonna Try to get active bc?? again i lov flintlock
but yeah i do notice that? certain open threads dont get posts sometimes? and idk why tbhh

My blocks for posting are due to Faith’s age (so she wouldn’t be around the border) and her shyness (so she doesn’t like interacting with large groups)
Also (although this doesn’t happen as much anymore) the whole one and done for posting in a thread is hard to work with
