and [member=2332]ASmallEveryone[/member] I think it's okay if we have a herb training thread, we'd have to remove your apprentice announcement to make room though
hhey ive been wanting to have a character here for a while and
i was gonna use this guy but hes?? so grumpy he wouldnt /do/ anything
so i was wondering if there's any like, sort of niches that need to be filled or types of characters that the bastion is low on? I'd probably make an apprentice age character but im not sure where to start tbh

there aren't really any niches that aren't filled or need to be, maybe someone who is naive, brave and chivalrous since we have a lack of those sorts of things imo? like paladin house is ded af

Quote:[justify]everyone has a back story, but boo could hardly remember how to speak, or what his name was. he was just a little shadow with no memory of his past or where he came from, but there was one thing that could trigger his memories-
fire.
he didn't know what he was getting himself into while he was wandering, only to see a harsh, angry glow in the distance. curiosity got the best of him, so he decided to investigate. as he drew closer to the source, he could see a large waft of smoke rising into the gentle oranges and purples that painted the sky as the sun set into the sky. fire.
no, not fire! anything but fire! the little shadow’s mind screamed, its formless body starting to twirl into a storm cloud as a single memory cane rushing back into his mind..
his death.
his father had finally, finally let him come with him on a trading run! they had travelled from rome, all the way to a grand trading city that went by the name of pompeii.
he could remember the sun glaring off the tile roof tops, his sandals just hardly protecting his feet from the heat of the stone under his feet. his father would stay close to him, a hand set on his shoulder as he lead him through the huge crowds of people at the trading markets.
he looked quite a bit like his father- he was short with beautifully tanned skin and bright blonde hair, and the prettiest green eyes a person could have. they both had high cheekbones and full lips, but skinny, pointy little noses that should belong to a fairy. as much as they may look alike, but their personalities were complete opposites.
his father was stoic, determined, intimidating- where as he was small, nervous, and scared if a fly. his father said he wasn't fit for the ocean, that he would end up sailing off the edge of the world, but he loved the rocking of the boat and the feeling of the wind through his hair. it made him feel free, almost.. happy.
as they moved through market stalls, the boy spotted a woman- she had to be at least eighteen, but she was stunning. she had long, raven black hair with spectacular blue eyes, freckled skin that looked as smooth as a baby’s bottom. he could only stare for a moment before his father's voice took him from his spot.
"caelius, boy! watch where you are going!" his father demanded, steering him away from an elderly woman who looked quite offended by him stepping on her robes. caelius blinked, clearing his throat.
"apologies, father. i was distracted.. still am, really." he explained in a dreamy tone, his gaze falling back to the beautiful young girl that had been draped in pure white cloth. "i just saw the most stunning woman. she had raven hair and pure white drapes. never have i seen someone’s clothes to be so white!" he said excitedly.
his father would crack a smile, only from a tremor to pass through the ground, knocking things off of market stalls and making people tumble to the ground. his father managed to keep them both standing, and they both looked at each other with wide, green eyes. they heard a loud cracking, and everyone turned to look at the mountain. the saw the top portion cave in, and smoke began to rise. screams of horror came from many of the citizens, and many began to run frantically.
his father looked around with wide eyes, before grabbing his son by the arm and dragging him back to the port. a few guards had already started evacuation, as if they had known this would happen- and they were loading high class citizens onto their ship. "hey!" his father screamed to the guards, frantically pushing past people and leaving him in the chaos. "this is my ship! i serve under the emperor, and he will be outraged!"
caelius had begun to get lost in the crowd, pushed and shoved away by people until he was in the back of the crowd, staring in horror at the angry mountain that looked over the city.
he turned back to the crowd, screaming at them to let him through, that his father would be boarding, he needed to get on that ship- but on the horizon, he could see a ship leaving, and the screams of his name grew closer and closer. "caelius!" he heard. it wasn't his father's voice, but a woman’s. he saw the woman in white polish through the crowd, and calmly take his hands. "caelius," she would whisper, looking him in the eyes. her eyes were so calming, so beautiful. "your father, caelius, will not make it home to rome. this is your destiny." she whispered.
through his panic, he could faintly hear screams, but all was ok as he woman led him away from the crowd, closer to the mountain. "all will be well." she whispered to him.
he could only repeat her, eyes devoid of fear or any sort of emotion. he faintly felt the ground shake, and smelt wood burning, smoke wafting into his nose. the mountain had been a volcano, and had erupted so quickly that no one had time to leave. they stopped at the edge of the city, and caelius could only stare as the lava that was rolling from the mouth of the volcano came closer.
"you, caelius, are heaven and hell, life and death. you are doom."
he felt a searing, bubbling pain engulf his feet as the lava rolled along his skin, melting it off the bone right then and there. a scream of agony would escape the boy, and he would fall to his knees. pain. that was all that enveloped his body. he saw the woman, now engulfed by flames, laughing hysterically at his pain.
"foolish, foolish. you are doom. foolish, foolish." she repeated, watching as he fell to his side, the light slowly fading from his eyes.
"doom.." were the last words he would utter, before all that remained in his vision was darkness.
a screech would break the silence of bloodclan, one that could send shivers down the most brave of souls spine. boo remembered. he remembered the pain, the horror, but all he felt know was anger. large rocks flew in his direction, and his dragon form began to build itself. the only difference was that, now, he was much larger, and his electric shock would do more damage.
