the relationships of alexandria renee james

Lilas Gilmore is Alex's best friend. The two met when they were seven, Alex stood up for Lilas when the other kids would be mean to her, it didn't take long for the two to become inseparable. They would always take the bus to a different city on the weekends to escape their lives, even making up two different identities to go along with it. She was Angel and Lilas was Logan. Their two identities were polar opposites of each other, almost like one another in a way. Lilas truly did save Alex, she saved her from turning out bad. Without having the sunshine in her life, she could've turned out like those kids who steal and disrespect everyone. Lilas means everything to Alex, she would do anything for her goofy best friend.
Zach Phelps is Alex's on again off again boyfriend. Where to even begin with him. Alex met him during sophomore year of highschool.
Leo Mikkelakakis besides Lilas, he is Alex's other best friend. At first when Lilas told Alex that she wanted her to meet a new friend of hers, Alex got pretty jealous and nervous. She didn't want to loose her best friend to some new friend, but after awhile, Alex had grown to really like and appreciate Leo. The two also bonded on the fact that they were probably the only two who cared enough to stick by Zach's side for this long, even if he were annoying. At times, people often think that Leo and Alex are dating, which led to the two always joking that they really are dating and using their other relationships as a coverup to hide their 'true love'. It also won't be rare for you to hear Alex referring to Leo as 'my man' in a joking way.
Emjay Winters is the twin brother of Alex. Alex was born only a few minutes before Emjay, thought for the majority of her life, she didn't know he even existed. When they were very young their parents fought often and broke up, Alex was never sure if they were married or just dating, her mother didn't speak a lot on this topic. They didn't want to go through a long court process to decide the housing situations for the twins so they just decides that their father would take Emjay and their mother would take Alex. when Alex was sixteen she heard about her twin brother who lived in Colorado, quite the distance from where she was use to.
