the new girl was jackie, moved to here from oregon. there's nothing interesting about here, but she does make it clear to pepper that she's not interested in none of the talking business -- making it especially clear by calling her annoying -- right to her face. it's quite clear that she takes it harder than she should. there's nothing pepper hates more than being disliked and from what starts as a vacation away from piles of work, now became a bit of trouble in paradise. she considers cutting the tour short, but quickly pushes that aisde. even with being a bit of a meanie face, she deserved just the fair amount of touring as everyone else. and plus, maybe she was just was having a bad day! there was no way that she could just dislike her. not without knowing her, right?

as they approached jackie's period, she still can't help but feel relieved. "mr. tucker is a really cool guy! i'm really sure he'll make your transitioning super smooth!" she offers the girl a smile, but gets nothing in return, only a killer standard bitch face before the girl walked into the room. "alright.... well, see you later...." she lowered her voice. "meanie face." sigh. well, wasn't that'da load of crap. pepper feels a bit disappointed, but not for long when she realizes exactly what's next. english! and not just english class, but the english class she shared with thorne grey harkness, the most mysterious and cutest of them all right next to mr. harky. besides the rest, she's basically been in love with him her whole life, and it's only a dream that she's around his age. he's a bit shy, but luckily pepper is patient. she knows that eventually, he'd be bound to come around.

pepper walks into the room. she doesn't have to say anything about her absence -- lawrence trusts her enough to know she's not getting into any trouble. instead, he greets her with his next assignment plans. typical lawrence. "we're doing an assignment on the five books listed on the board, here of your choice..." he points and romeo and juliet captures her attention. william shakespeare, lawrence was a classic. "...you will also be assigned partners!" thorne. she cranes her neck to look at him. he isn't looking at her. he looks rather bored, his hand planted on his cheek, as always. pepper does the same, staring longingly at him. the idea of him actually being her partner seemed like a long lost dream out of reach. never in her life had to even been that lucky, she wasn't sure how she could ever be that lucky this time. at least, she thought so right until five seconds later.

"pepper, you're going to be paired with thorne." he looks around a suddenly tense room, unaware of what all the other students already knew. "if you already got your partners go to them now!" you could have heard a pencil drop, the room beyond the snickers and whispers, dead silent but pepper couldn't hear it over the beating of her heart. she couldn't believe that this was the day! out of all the students in the room, she was the one to be picked to accompany thorne. getting up, she walks up to thorne, who appears to be just as shocked! smiling, she takes her bottom lip between her teeth attempting to keep her cool, but all else fails by the small squeal that escapes from the back of her throat. "can ya believe it thorne. me and you. partners? i never thought the day would come!" she exclaims, taking the empty seat beside him, unaware that she'd invaded his bubble. "i was thinking possibly romeo and juliet. i read it just about hundreds of times i find it so romantic but- of course if ya think ya'd want to do something else i'm down."
