Richie smiled a bit when the other finally fell asleep, and he continued his humming, dragging his fingers gently through the other's hair. His thoughts were racing, but they usually did when he was close to Eddie.

Richie blinked and looked up, tensing slightly. His arms around the other tightened a bit, and he frowned. He guessed it was only Eddie's Mom, but that could also be bad, considering she didn't trust any of the kids with Eddie, least of all Richie.

it was, indeed, his mother, coming to ask eddie a question about something, but paused when she saw the two. "what are you doing?"

He blinked and frowned a little bit, saying quietly as he continued to hold Eddie close, giving the older woman a challenging look, "Eds has been having trouble sleeping, so I was trying to help."

she blinked and sighed. "well.. thank you.. he's been climbing in bed with me in the middle of the night.."

He winced a little bit and sighed. It wasn't like he could just tell her about Pennywise. It was too dangerous, and most adults didn't believe them anyways, so instead he just pet Eddie's hair softly, saying quietly, "I think he's just stressed out lately. School and stuff.."
