"But.. what?" The nurse questioned softly. Richie, for once, had fallen silent, and was looking down, occasionally glancing over at Eddie. Sure, he didn't mind talking about his situation with friends, but adults made him nervous. He didn't wanna end up in some kind of foster care or shit.

Richie seemed to hesitate for a long moment, but then he gave a faint nod, his stomach in a knot.

he gently started explaining the situation that they were both in, about both of their parents and managed to leave the part out about them being together just as a precaution.

The nurse listened intently, and Richie's heart was beating aggressively. She said quietly, frowning a little bit, "Oh, I'm so sorry, for both of you... would you like me to, uhm... maybe get somebody?"

Richie frowned and said softly, getting to his feet, "Can you please give us a minute?" He didn't give the nurse a chance to reply, grabbing Eddie's arm and pulling him out into the hallway, saying with a frown, "What... What are you doing?"

We're not old enough to be on our own, and it's not exactly like the cops won't see that my Mom's an alcoholic and yours is a fucking nutjob. We could end up getting taken in by some strangers!" He said, eyes wide.
