her body was rigid, everything was tense. she felt so shattered, so much so that she was convinced that if she hadn't been so tense she would've just crumbled. anyone with two eyes could see she was on edge. she wore a jacket in eighty degree weather and her hair was a mess, something that wasn't usual for after a shoot. kara felt dirty and so humiliated; she couldn't bring herself to even show her face.
managing to make it into her apartment door by keeping her head down, she could feel a crack through her. tears came to her eyes as she heard tatum from the living room, "you're back! how'd your shoot go?" kara froze, opening her mouth but no sound came out. "fine," her voice cracked, her tears spilling over and running down her cheeks. before tatum could respond she was in the bathroom, tears flowing now. she tried her best to keep from sobbing, trying to stay as quiet as she could. kara turned on the water scorchingly hot; she felt so dirty. she wanted so bad to be clean, but began to sob as she took off her layers of clothes, being taken back into the moment again. she climbed into the tub, sitting on the floor, hugging her knees, unable to bring herself to get to her feet. she sobbed and sobbed and sobbed as she let the hot water burn her skin.
