it was probably his stepdad who did that, like he was tired of camber's shit or found out about him selling weed and pills and just grabbed him by the throat until camber couldn't breathe and his mother did nothing about it and let her son, her only child, suffer at the hands of someone who could very easily kill camber. continuing off of that, the abuse continues for a while with his mother sitting by idly and letting her son get abused despite camber pleading with her to help him. and i imagine him at some point going to blake's idk with like deep purple bruises around his neck and tears in his eyes and ya know, he's just so scared why did i just give angst to them im sorry

4th layer is super vulnerable and anxious and about to cry boy

or he would sit down with him and let him cry and hold him and kiss him and run his hands through his hair and say that he wants to run away with him and that he loves him

*when i say actual tough boy i mean like he has gotten in lots of fist fights before he came out and he's committed a lot of crimes on the dl but he tried to domesticate himself after that and decided to be more passive/peaceful

camber is legit just so scared and he's a mess and he hates showing his vulnerablity to other people because he feels weak

you know what else has layers? ogres have layers. so blake must be shrek.

protec and fight blake, show camber that someone actually cares enough to stand up to the people who hurt him constantly

i love blake so much okay all his layers and how he is passive/peacceful son after not being so and how he is so kind and nice to camber and wants to take care and protect camber

AND HE JUST HE TRIES TO HIDE THE TEARS BUT HE CANT AND BREAKS dOWN AND HE'S LIKE HYPERVENHILATING BECAUSE IT HURTS TO CRY ANDD HE JUST HATES LIFE AND WANTS TO DIE BECAUSE HIS OWN MOTHER DOESN'T CARE ENOUGH TO HELP HIM
and he's just clinging so tightly to blake and trying to slow his breathing but he can't and he is in so much pain physically and emotionally and he just wants to lay in blake's arms forever
and when blake says something about them running away and loving him he nods his head slowly and he would say smth but it hurts too much to talk
